About Me

According to the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), I'm classified as an INTP (Introverted Intuitive Thinking Perceiving) individual, which means that I'm a detached observer, more of a "thinker" than a "do-er", more interested in concepts than in reality, and generally out of touch with my more extroverted, emotional aspects. According to my own observations, I describe myself as a living manifestation of passive misanthropy, but only in a very general sense as applied to humanity as a whole (after all, there are shining exceptions). I'm a father now, and I Love my little baby girl like no other. I'm an artist, and I have to work at it harder to reach a real level of actualization and passionate expression. I don't question sleep anymore-- heading into middle-age, I find that it is quite glorious (who needs excitement when one can get an extra few hours of blessed slumber?). I have a tendency to become nostalgic and dwell on my past (a simpler time). I'm a collector, yet I often find more interest in the collecting than in what is collected. I don't exactly fit the aesthetic I most appreciate, but my reflection haunts me nonetheless-- not out of vanity but out of the need to analyse and self-critique. I have an abiding interest in the grotesque and find that it is often interested in me as well. I can be black and white and all points in between. I ponder, I reflect, I look inside myself. I stare into the abyss and let it stare back into me...without getting drawn down. I practice what I preach. Although some might say that I am complex, I usually regard myself as being simple... and simply difficult. ..

My Interests

Many things bizarre and unusual, experimental film and music, the fantastic, the esoteric, mythology, drawing, sculpting, writing, collecting various bits and baubles I find pleasing and interesting (gargoyles, Eastern decorations and musical instruments, vinyl toys, etc.) dreaming, finding new places where I feel a particular and comfortable ambience, talking with an individual who knows and appreciates the same things I do, dancing occasionally, walking at night along quiet streets, and drinking a White Russian Latte while reading an engrossing volume(among other things...)

I'd like to meet:

Those who are like me in nature and temperament; other INTP's (and INFP's-- because I walk the line...); intelligent, patient, thoughtful, creative people; entities who reveal powerful, esoteric truths about all existence (specifically benign entities... no Faustian contracts); Alice in her Looking Glass Land; patrons of the Arts (especially my own); people who inspire me to be my very best.

Fragments of the Ideal

I have come to the conclusion that nearly all I desire exists around me-- in pieces. People, places, objects, events... so much of what I encounter presents me with an element, a perfect ingredient, o...

Song, speak thus for me...

Here are more lyrics in lieu of something real and personal. I have to admit though-- songs often express what I'm thinking and feeling better than I can (or am willing to) put down in words. mo...

The Counting Down of Days...

I have two weeks to accomplish a great many things, and I don't know if I'm up to the task. One of my greatest fears is that of failure, and so I tend to be a perfectionist whenever it comes to reali...
