About Me

There's not much you really need to know about me. But I really need to know what's the difference between a "Blurb", and a "Blog ".
What is a Blog anyway? Sounds like something you get from an STD. Like a Herpe ( or for you Greeks a Harpy), or Canker. " Oh, sorry honey. Not tonight, I just broke out with a blog. I'd hate for you to catch it, and it's kind of sore right now." Oh, oh what about " I've been constipated for a week now, and I really need to drop a blog"?
And a Blurb ??? I think that's what a drunk date of mine did on my new cowboy boots once,.. in fact she said " Oh my God Mike,.. I think I'm gonna oh no, BLURB".... it wasn't a pretty sight.
Other than that, I'm a normal guy, who loves his kids, and his dogs ( not always in that order). And who was told be the EBAY people that you can't auction off your spouse. Much to the relief of my wife.
I play guitar ( usually 12 string), and harmonica. Occasionally sing ( when my sinuses aren't acting up). I have played Banjo, and mandolin. I have a fiddle, and I'm really good at making this really annoying squeeky noise with it. Although maybe not as annoying as when I take out my bagpipe chanter. Heck, you can hear me sing at

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet the person who decides what is, and isn't politically correct, and smack him upside the head.

Would like to meet Ron Howard, and Rob Reiner. There's a few books I've read that I think they'd do a good job of making into a movie.

Would also like to Meet Dick Van Dyke. Always considered him one of the finest all around entertainers. Liked Danny Kaye,.. but he'd be difficult to meet nowadays.

Music:

I'll listen to just about anything, but Rap, or Hip-Hop. I try to listen to a lot of country music ( although there's no country station near NYC) almost everything from Hank Williams, and Snow, to Garth Brooks, Montgomery- Gentry, and Shania, or Sarah Evans. Own every album Garth Brooks made ( except the very last one), as well as Nickle Creek, Dan Fogelberg,Brooks and Dunn, Ricky Skaggs, Tim Curry ( wow,.. what's that doing here??). Also Enjoy Rob Thomas, Bare Naked Ladies (the Band),Bowling for Soup, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Yes, ELP and others. Also don't mind listening to Mozart, Bach, or Tchaikovsky.Trace Adkins

Movies:

Hmmm,.. there's more movies to list than I have time for. If it was based on a comic book, I'll watch it. I'm a big fan of Sci-fi, sword, and sorcery, and horror. Swash-bucklers from Pirates of the Carribean, or old Errol Flynn stuff. I don't think I've seen a Harrison Ford, Ashley Judd,or Kevin Klien movie I haven't enjoyed. I'm also a Fan of Peter O'Toole, Gene Kelly,Danny Kaye, Dick Van Dyke, Fred Astaire, and The Duke - John Wayne. Really enjoyed the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Life as a House, and Harry Potter. Favorite movie is probably The Quiet Man, or maybe Braveheart, umm,.. or maybe Singing in the Rain,.. I liked The Green Mile too, oh wait, and Hook. How about those Star Trek movies,...oooh, ooooh Independence Day.

Television:

Don't get to watch a lot of TV. American Chopper, or Heroes. Just recently started watching Scrubs, and am now almost addicted to it. Animal Planet, CMT, and Trauma, Life in the ER ( Discovery Health ? ). I have been trying to catch up on all the Smallville episodes I missed,.. I'm a BIG fan of the show. It's done very well.

Books:

I've read most of Stephen King's stories. Have also read many if not all of Isaac Asimov, Frank Herbert, David Eddings, Raymond Feist, Terry Goodkind, Katherine Kurtz, JRR Tolkien, Orson Scott Card, Anne Rice, John Grisham, Dan Brown, Arthur C Clarke, Edgar Rice Borroughs, Peter Straub, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, among lots of others. Hmmm, who wrote those Encyclopedia Brown books ??

Heroes:

Superman,...Spider-man.
Actually, I'm not sure that I'd call him hero, but I have found that as I get older I agree almost completely with Charlie Daniels and his opinions on the War with Iraq, and with illegal immigrants. Heck,.. I'm starting to think that legal immigration should be held up to closer scrutiny. Hey!!! Someone get me a soapbox,.. I want to rant.
