About Me

King Casanova are an alternative rock/metal band based in Preston, Lancashire, UK.

We all met each other when we were in other bands in the Preston area. The idea was started by Adam (guitar/vocals) who jammed with Darren (drums/samples) in a music shop. Adam then bumped into Dan (keyboard/vocals) whilst shopping, and they both discussed the "new band" idea.

So at this point, we had guitar, drums and keyboards. Eventually we started jamming, and for some bizarre reason decided our music was great without bass (Dan played a lot of bass on the keys); however, one day, Phil (bass/vocals), who was (and still is) in a progressive death metal band called Spiral Tower, came along for a jam; and we all knew from the moment we started playing the first song, that King Casanova was now complete.

We've been gigging since February 2006 and have gained quite a lovely fanbase in the Preston area. Our debut 5-track EP (entitled " Dirty Voodoo ") was released in December 2006, and recorded at MJM Recording, with Peter Gabriel's "Growing Up Tour" engineer, Mark Jones. Since recording this, many new songs have been written, and we are looking forward to going back to record a full album.

Since recording the EP, our musical style has matured somewhat; and fortunately, we are absolutely crushing the possibility of being labelled "crazy, circus progsters" ever again - Listen to the new stuff; you'll see.

We're now beginning to play gigs out of the area, and we're loving every minute of it. Keep an eye out for us - we could be playing near you soon!

Sounds Like:"A cheerful, energetic display that resembles System Of A Down on a day out in Blackpool. Fairground metal simply shouldn't work; but it does - alarmingly well. Undoubtedly the band of the night. (9/10)" Stuart Saint

"Wow; King Casanova Rock! What a legend set of guys they are. Music is fookin' ace. Bloody well done." Grant Hodgeon

"KC sound like a big spaghetti junction of every good band you've ever heard, served on a plate of silver." Andrew Bamber

"Very impressive stuff!" Kev Brigden

"King Casanova are what happened when Pink Floyd went to the circus and had a fight with System of a Down - Made friends and then had a bloody good party with the clowns, jugglers and acrobats at which they all rejoiced about their favourite children's TV theme tunes. Can you think of anything better?" Russ Carlton

"King Casanova blew me away - By far the best band I've ever seen playing this circuit." Paul Gilligan

"The most immediately obvious influence on King Casanova is the first Mr. Bungle album, with its abrupt stylistic leaps, turnabouts and surprises." Edward Martland

"They are possibly the most musically competent band I have seen in these parts in the last 3 years, and if the performances continue to be as outstanding as the one tonight (13/05/06), it would not be unreasonable to assume that they have a very bright future ahead of them." Andrew Bamber

"KC shook my bowels - One of the best local live band I've ever seen." Ric Bennett

"Any act that can actually blend elements of cheesy jazz and song structures that feature a vibe somewhat reminiscent of Pink Floyd with Pantera style double kick and thousand mile an hour shredding with pseudo-classical arpeggiated keyboard sweeps and sometimes almost Beatles-esque vocal harmonies.... and all topped off with some wonderful Zappa-like touches... gets a HUGE thumbs up from me!"
