Welcome to Oxjam_Oxlit.Last year Gareth Simpson, Oxjam's manager, threw down a challenge to volunteers - to establish a fundraising festival which would have as wide an appeal as possible. They responded with gusto!
To widen the appeal still further, we came up with an extension of this - 'Oxjam_Oxlit'. This will be the literary element of Oxjam, encouraging Oxford-based writers to perform locally while fundraising for Oxfam.
The idea is to pioneer these literary events in Oxford (UK), this year and promote it nationally next year. Quite a few people have already expressed an interest, however, so we might have to review that! One group, TWiN, have already expressed their desire to become heavily involved in Oxjam_Oxlit and are actively promoting this on their MySpace site.
