THE STORY
mical & dirk started collecting reggae as teenagers in the 80s. around '95 both of them decided to perform as selectors in bad aachen, playing roots & dancehall.
they visited london & jamaica and in 1997 the soundsystem-idea came up.
the first dance took place in Jan. '98 in ac. In the following years there was a lot of work for mical, dirk, swen and the brandnew small axe crew. they started promoting dances and stage shows; built up a heavyweight sound and got the latest records & dubplates
small axe sound travelled countries like jamaica, USA, UK, france, italy, spain, holland, belgium, Switzerland, Austria -
they performed in cities like nyc, london, paris, bruxelles, berlin, hamburg, frankfurt a.m., cologne, munich, barcelona, madrid...
