Influences:Shawn Phillips is a huge influence to me and my music. He and I have been friends since the 1970's. We first met at the Hurricane Carter Benifit Concert hosted by Bob Dylan at the Houston Astrodome in 1975. He has taught me to draw outside the lines when it comes to music and composing. Shawn and I have played together off and on since 1978. The last time we played together was 9-11-2001 in Houston, Texas. Shawn and I could not believe what had happened that day, it certainly changed our lives.I am a musician. A singer/songwriter. I play acoustic/electric guitar player. Currently I'm playing keyboard synthesizer. I compose with it and the guitar. Sing lead and back-up vocals, I play the bass guitar, I play the drums and percussion instruments.
I've been a musician since I was 13 years old. Played all over Texas and all through the United States both east and west. It's taken me all the way to Hawaii and Hong Kong.
I was a street musician off and on for 25 years in San Francisco. I had the pleasure of representing street performers in Hong Kong with Diane Feinstein and her entourage back in 1988 along with 5 other acts who perform on the streets.
I've been a Country music arranger for Honey Bee Records and publishng, Royal Recording Studios and collaborated with Gene Kelton in Baytown, Texas.
I've been to Nashville pitching songs to major record labels. I've been an assistant recording engineer and sound engineer for various Blues and Rock groups in San Francisco.Influences in my music 1I have collaberated with David De La Paz Great Guitarist, Rita Bush great pianist, Steve Moore bassist and Connie Williams violinist, Mark Sebesta drummer and John Sebesta Jr. guitarist and Songwriter, Stan Schecter Flute, Rebecca Storm Blues singer, Jackie Ivory and his gang, Stroke 9, The Kingston Trio, Chuck Day and His Blues Band he played bass for Mama Cass back in the 60's, John Lee Hooker, Jerry Garoni Guitarist and Keyboards.
I've recorded at Lester Abram's home studio he is a great songwriter, He wrote Minute By Minute a song Michael McDonald and the Doobie Brothers recorded years back recorded with Jeff Ceyba excellent guitarist (who used to play with The Smashing Pumpkins) at Phlip Meridith Studio San Marcos, CA.. Recorded with Robby Campbell. Played and recorded with The Red Zone (Jeff and Brian Botts), The band Swerve. Jan Fanucci and Doug Hamblin. I've recorded at San Francisco State helping future recording engineers make their grade. Recorded at th College for the Recording Arts (Golden Gate Studios). The Cannery in San Francisco is the place to perform on Fisherman's Wharf, I did for over 25 years. In the Alcove where acoustics are great on Fisherman's Wharf.Influences in my music 2
