THE GREAT SOUTH BAY MUSIC FESTIVAL
The Great South Bay Music Festival is the largest three day, "American Themed" music, art & cultural family event on Long Island. Featuring over 35 musical artists on 4 stages, presenting top name as well as local up & coming artists in contemporary & classic rock, jazz, jam-band, country, folk, zydeco, funk and all types of American music. (Last year featured such diverse legends as Foghat, The subdudes, Richie Havens, Railroad Earth, Nine Days, Tom Rush and 30 others. (Stay tuned for the '08 lineup!)
A seperate KIDZONE area tent & stage featuring quality educational & fun childrens entertainment. The Festival is also proud to present an American Patriots Area (PATRIOTS ZONE) featuring an authentic, live-in Civil War Encampment. The New York 3d's Infantry will live on site as they did in the Civil War, ...tents, military drills, authentic costumes, campfires, create the experience as you & your children are transported back in time to this critical time in history. The PATRIOTS-ZONE will also feature Teddy Roosevelt as portrayed by (Straight from the History Channell) Mr. Jim Foote reenacting his famous speeches including "Carry A Big Stick". A diverse Arts & Crafts market and a huge food court featuring a diverse array of hot & cold fare. Adult beverages are also available.
WHEN WILL THE MUSIC SCHEDULE BE RELEASED? Please stay tuned to this site - we're working on it as we speak!WHEN DO TICKETS GO ON SALE? March 1, will offer "Early Bird" tickets. Early Bird Tickets will be on sale (if all goes well) March 1.
ARE THERE ATM'S AT THE FESTIVAL: There are ATM machines conveniently located throughout the festival site.
KIDZONE As part of Great South Bay's committment to excellence in "Educational Fun" We present the KIDZONE: Hands on, interactive arts, crafts, educationakl programs, musical instrument making, drum circles, puppeteers, story telling, musicval entertainment, games & professional top level childrens entertainers perform continually for each day of the festival. Once inside, this area is free.
PATRIOTS EVENTS Another example of Great South Bays committment to "Excellence in Childrens Educational Entertainment" we present: The PATRIOTS-ZONE. The Main feature of the PATRIOTS ZONE is our "living" Civil War Encampment. The celebrated " New York 3d' will live on site for three days as they did during the Civil War - authentic uniforms, tents, campfires, drills and re-enactments, you and your children will be transported back in time to the unions efforts during this critical time in US history.
Also on hand will be Teddy Roosevelt as portrayed by the History Channels Jim Foote, considered worldwide to be the finest Teddy Roosevelt alive today.
Enjoy re-enactments, a steady parade of fife & drum music, crafts & memorabilia, all inspired by American history.

PHILANTHROPY As part of the Great South Bay Music Festivals committment to Comunity Support & Philanthropy, GSB has partnered with Mather Hospital and WBAB to create the "Sticky-Finger-Run". A bike run to support Mather Hospitals Fortunato Breast Health Center. Over $20,000 was raised in '07, this year we are going for $50,000.
