With roots in Metal, Progressive, Experimental, and Jazz, San Antonio-based Thirteen Muses offers the listener a smooth combination of intensity and melody. Formed in 2005, Thirteen Muses has willingly chosen the path less traveled, and traded trendy modern music formulas for thoughtful songwriting. With influences ranging from but not limited to Black Sabbath, Canderia, Superjoint Ritual to Medeski, Martin, & Wood, C.O.C, and Faith No More. The common theme is originality and longevity.
The members of Thirteen Muses by no means are your run-of-the-mill garage band players. They have logged in thousands of hours of live performance time including numerous tours both regionally and nationally. Not to mention supporting slots with national touring acts such as Fear Factory, Genitorturers, Suicidal Tendencies, and countless others. From Louisiana jazz clubs to cross country penniless tours this band and its creators take their music seriously.
With the release of their first CD, only time will tell what the world will or wont except as modern and valid. Confident in their stance, Thirteen Muses asks you to step outside the box and reach for what is unfamiliar.
