Influences: Friends who love country music and the local radio station here for playing the best country music in Bismarck (KQ 94.5)
I just recently started checking out the country music scene within the last 5 years and it all started when I was a Karaoke DJ at the local bars. I knew that in order to be succesful in the Karaoke business (with a lot of competition to put up with) that I was going to have to add country music to my karaoke library! So one day I sat down in front of the TV and turned on CMT! I had a pencil and a sheet of paper and every song that was played that I liked, I wrote down the aritst and song title. The very first song on that list was Alan Jackson's "It's 5'Oclock Somwhere" with Jimmy Buffet! Since the last 5 years have gone by, I have become a huge country music fan! I would say that one of my favorites is Kenny Chesney....but to be perfectly honest, there are so many of them! I love the humor in Brad Paisley's songs! Plus I love all the upbeat country and quite possibly one of my favorite songs that is not by Kenny Chesney would be "Wild West Show" from Big & Rich! I love that song! - So that's my history on how I was hooked on country music! Thank the Lord for karaoke! LOL
Sounds Like: Wild Country (and it's soon to be new format) is an exclusive program to Highway 40 Country!!
