DJ Jay Allegro performed regularly in the New England/New York club and party scene since 1996- including a 6 year residency at the largest venue in the North East, The Asylum (from 1998 until its close in 2004). He was the only main room resident DJ during the time that The Asylum was open and he performed at over 50 major events there to capacity-breaking crowds of over 2000 dancers.
This gig led him to play along side of and directly open for some of the worlds most respected DJs and artists, including BT, DJ Craze, the Sugar Hill Gang, Frankie Bones, DJ Dan, Donald Glaude, Freq Nasty, Micro, Derrick Carter, Christopher Lawrence, Steve Porter, and even the legendary ORBITAL.These years of experience playing along side top billed talent helped him to craft a sound that is alternatively accessible and underground. His sets are directly aimed at the dance-floor using a diverse selection of House, Progressive, Tribal, Tech, Funk & Electro. He is known for playing twisted, uplifting sets with exclusive edits, mash-ups, remixes and unreleased tracks from his labels and producer friends.As a producer Jay's productions have been consistently played by some of the worlds most respected house DJs including Doc Martin, Lee Burridge, Derrick Carter, Eddie Amador, Tom Stephen (aka Superchumbo), Mark Farina, Roger Sanchez, John Aquaviva, Sander Kleinenberg, Steve Porter, Nick Terranova and more.
Jay's current production project is with his partner, DJ Kevin Brown. Their sound layers elements of classic dance, progressive and electro onto a tribal house backbone. Their productions have been receiving heavy support by Tom Stephen & Eddie Amador, who each recently signed tracks by the duo to their respective labels (ChumboMundo & MochicoPrimo!). Their track, "I Found Something" has been featured on multiple mix compilations by System Recordings. Jay & Kevin are currently hard at work in the studio on remix projects for new labels- as well as 2 original releases for MochicoPrimo!.Jay & Kevin regularly play at clubs in Phoenix & Scottsdale, AZ.
