About Me

I grew up in Queens, NY and threw a legendary 4th grade breakdancing Christmas party at my elementary school with my new boom box. The party was quite a success. We played "Jam On It" till the tape got stuck, ate a ton of M&M's, drank mad soda, and did the worm all afternoon. Then i asked for two turntables and a mixer for my next birthday/christmas gift. After 2 years of begging my folks, they finally hooked it up. Lots of practice later, I started dj ing block parties and school dances. I was spinning freestyle, hip hop, and dancehall reggae. Doug E. Fresh's "The Show" was my jam. I opened lots of parties with that song. Then when I was 13, my sister kept telling me about this house music she was hearing at the clubs. She said I could probably find it in the city and that I would love it. So I hopped on the train and went to the village with my friend Kara. I bought a tape off this guy slinging mix tapes on the streets of Manhatten, his name was DJ Roger Sanchez. He even showed me his home phone number on the tape in case I wanted to book him for a gig. I don't think he's there anymore. Anyway, the tape was called Red Zone Volume 6 and I listened to it when I got home. When it got to track 3 i was really hooked. I heard Joey Beltram's "Energy Flash" for the first time. So then came along house music for me. After years of DJ ing the natural progression was to start making my own music. Now I spend most of my time doing that.
