About Me

Myspace Layouts at Pimp-My-Profile.com / Fog

*AS WITH ALL MY WORKS OUT IN THE WORLD, THESE WRITINGS ARE COPYWRITTEN AND MAY NOT BE USED WITHOUT DIRECT PERMISSION FROM MYSELF *I keep myself very busy with family, private practice (massage therapist and alternative healer) and writing both novels and political/educational pieces. Now that the weather has changed and the Solstice is just around the corner, it's time for my inner Bear to hunker down for the long nights and when that happens, my creativity abounds. I will spend the next several months as I always do: writing, painting, formulating and plotting. I wear two different hats here on this myspace page. One hat is worn by the storyteller, the instrument through which many Muses pass through. "Haunted", the current tale being spun here is strictly for Myspace. As with all the tales I tell, "Haunted" is an intuitive writing, which means I sit down here at the computer, close my eyes and channel in the Muse; I hit spellcheck and post and that's what the readers get. I do, however, register all my works, treatements and concepts with WGA (which I recommend all writers to do). I have three finished, full-length novels that are ready for market, but as I abhor self-promotion and paperwork, I've made a deal with my immediate family that I would seek out a lit agent and let him/her run with the business end of it all - just let me write. I'm dabbling in screenwriting, which is far more difficult for me (since I'm an intuitive writer, and screen is all about the form) and have a past as a political writer. Which brings me to my second hat: activist. I have been, in the past, staff writer for a political magazine and contributor to various 'alternative religions' magazines. But the singular, driving force within me is educating people - whether through my stories, my activism or my film work, my life's goal is to WAKE THE PEOPLE UP!! From the plight of our nations First People, to the lie that is our freedom (secret police and Homeland Security does NOT induce freedom) and the true fact that life is not at all how the government and church (one and the same?)have dictated to the masses. There are but a handful of elite that run the country and we, the average joe, the working class, out number them 1 million to 1. Think about that...

My Interests

Dark brews, good reads, stimulating conversations. I prefer change to stagnation, my tastes vary daily from vanilla and earth tones to habanero and flames.

I'd like to meet:

Other writers, filmmakers, artists, travelers and thinkers. Celebrity does not impress me, words and actions do.

Music:

Movies:

My all-time favorite flick is Johnny Depp and Gary Farmer in "Dead Man".Loved "Shaun of the Dead", "Crank" (because it was so, freaking out-of-control), "American Werewolf in London", "Harold and Kumar" (and I'm not embarrassed to admit that) and "Homegrown".

Television:

Don't.

Books:

Books are my heroin and I spent my childhood reading in various places in nature. I find that now, I don't read as much as I used to because I write the stories. However, when I need to take a mental break, I will grab something from my Charles de Lint collection. But here is a small list of books I have on my desk: *In the Spirit of Crazy Horse *Ward Churchills works *Silver Ravenwolf, Scott Cunningham, DJ Conway *The Lost Teachings of Atlantis *Spiritual Intelligence *Vine Deloria's works *JRR Tolkien's works

Heroes:

Those who understand you don't "find yourself", you create yourself.

"Haunted": Chapter 7

Sophie stood as if in the presence of God.  Her heart fluttered, not in fear but in reverence as the noble creature stepped out of the shadows of the wood to allow her eyes to gaze upon him. ...

What I saw.

I stood there, the mountains to my back and the wide valley gaping below me.  Where was I; who was I? The dreams just come, unbidden and unexplained.  I looked to the East and there a s...

Whats in a name? We are not your mascot!

The topic of Native names and icons in sports is the very tip of a much larger, cultural iceberg; America's history and ongoing treatment of the American Indian is that which lies just below the surfa...

"Haunted" chapter 6

I went chasing a dream with Coyote last night.

I was running through a snow-covered field, following a borderline of brush and vines. When I stopped, a Coyote stood on my left.  I reached out my hand and felt his dense, winter coat ...
