About Me

Time
The study of the elusive concept of time has more to contribute to an understanding of the human condition than space…From the sun dial to the Julian calendar and linear timekeeping…to the binary code and chaos theory.
The industrial revolution demanded accurate timekeeping like never before, ushering in a modern era obsessed with time. The machinery of mass production dramatically slashed the time required for manufacturing, and industry began to rely on precise synchronisations in labyrinthine scheduling systems, set up to drive our culture and technologies to greater degrees of “progress” every day.
At the heart of this time-obsession is our fear of death; our efforts to somehow combat and compensate our inevitable mortality by carefully gauging our remaining time and wringing as much as possible out of it. If our awareness of time indicates our reverence for it, it could be that we dare not “miss” a moment – if consciousness determines quality of life... The digital revolution certainly allowed us to be hyper-conscious of the progress of our global village, with every change recorded and uploaded with a collective trainspotting fervor; technologies “updated” and “outdated” at a dizzying pace.
This time-madness is ironically driven by the utopian dreams of a day when we might finally arrive at perfection – infinite, immortal – a time without time.

Submissions Wanted !!
We want you to be a part of the biggest indoor screen installation in the world. The point of I-REZ is to pose questions about global matters that affect us all and look for answers – in the community, in technology, in our use of media and in ourselves.
We are embedding thousands of clips into the main images which are all based on a storyboard exploring global issues and making connections with Manchester – the first "Modern" city – where the event takes place.
We want your stories and ideas to be part of the video mosaic that tells the wider story about our world – so please submit !
Imagine youtube x500 set to the beats of some great DJ’s ….
