The Industrial Revolution to the Digital Resolution.
A unique visual arts installation in HD, together with an equally exclusive gathering of the world’s greatest DJ talent.
JOIN THE IREZ RESOLUTION NOW!
WE'VE NEVER MADE ANYTHING LIKE IT AND YOU'VE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT - OVER 8 HOURS OF ORIGINAL CONTENT BEING PREPARED TO BE PLAYED LIVE ON THE LARGEST EVER INDOOR SCREEN - FILLING THE ENTIRE ARCH OF THE GMEX
Microchunk artists are working around the clock to create visuals at 8 x High Definition to suit the size of the screen - all the content is inspired by 10 main themes and loads of subplots all centred on global and historical issues - starting from the Industrial Revolution and ending in the infinite possibilites of the Digital Revolution .
Todd Graft is the creative genius designing this supersize VJ event - and Layo Paskin and David Levy are orchestrators of a kick ass DJ line
We aim to bring you a super sensory clubbing experience - bringing the revolution home to where it all began
Join us by coming along but also by submitting visuals - we are using thousands of clips as building blocks for our themed meta mixes
Read more about the concepts behind our themes by visiting I-Rez friends like Communication , Ecology, Innovation, Recording Media, etc - and see if you can dig up short clips that can be part of this live artwork SEE TOP FRIENDS FOR IREZ THEMES

Submissions Wanted!

Imagine YouTube x 500 and set to the beats of some great DJs. We want you to be a part of the biggest indoor screen installation in the world. The point of I-REZ is to pose questions about global matters that affect us all and look for answers – in the community, in technology, in our use of media and in ourselves.
We are embedding thousands of clips into the main images which are all based on a storyboard exploring global issues and making connections with Manchester – the first "Modern" city – where the event takes place.
We want your stories and ideas to be part of the video mosaic that tells the wider story about our world – so please submit!
Please read more about the event here and on Manchester Festival site and have a look at our submissions guidelines.
Then go get or make your clips and submit them, alerting the FRIEND that is closest in theme to your submission.
If your vid gets accepted, your friend will let you know. We’ll be posting the best submissions up on the various friends’ pages…
Here are some questions to get you started:

What does freedom mean to you? Are you free? What are you afraid of? Do you want to save our planet? Who or what do you look up to? What do you believe in? How do you experience nature? Do you know where your food comes from? Is there life without the internet or mobile phones?

Please choose categories to submit to:

INDUSTRIALISATION COMMUNICATION ENTERTAINMENT MUSIC POLITICS and RELIGION DANCE and FASHION SPEED and TRAVEL SOCIETY and CULTURE SCIENCE and TECHNOLOGY ECOLOGY

Submission Guidelines:

Video clips 3 to 30 seconds long Size no smaller than 180 x 135 and up to PAL resolution 25 frames/sec We don’t mind what codec you use – however please avoid DivX and any codec that uses very high compression
