About Me

Hello, good evening and Welcome to My Space.Im Andy Dee, a singer songwriter and parapatetic musician currently residing somewhere in County Durham, UK.I honed my skills in the Workingmens Clubs around the North East of England for many years, and for the majority of those years played guitar in Original Band “The Real McCabe” who enjoyed a good few trips to the States , some fantastic gigs arouns the UK (King Tuts - Glasgow, Mean Fiddler - London, to name a couple) before being disbanded in and around 1999.I have been writing and recording at home for probably the last 10 years, albeit fairly much half arsed. Seems I have found a new wind these days tho, and am going for it hook line and sphinkter!Im currently writing stuff for the New Album (work in progress title "The Dreaded Second"), and spending just about every waking hour recording, mixing, scribbling or farting about with Guitar sounds. Or restringing Guitars ... AGAIN! Adios, for now.Andy

Influences: Im influenced by a few, though my mentor and friend Lee McCabe has to be my biggest.Aside from him, in order of appearance in my life, Iron Maiden, Crash Test Dummies (you cant beat the songwriting and the rythm section of the first 3 certainly the latter 2 albums IMHO), and since Humour DOES belong in music, Barenake Ladies have to feature in here too. I love well written lyrics and these guys are dab hands. Nik Kershaw (great, great writer and the 3 "new"albums are where im coming from here), Marillion (post Fish), My most influential influence though, would have to be Porcupine Tree. Never has a band had such an impact on my writing and production. They have caused an about turn in my direction, and although my stuff still retains DeeExpus elements, the new stuff is a little different, though I have to say to my extreme dissapointment, doesnt sound much like PT. Well I dont think so anyway. A big nod to SW and the boys.
Sounds Like: Not for me to say really. Ive had "Crowded House", "Bare Naked Ladies" (which I was flattered about) and "The Real McCabe" funnily enough. Oh and I sound like the Eighties too apparently, which Im really trying to shake!

PTtee Mixing Done

Finally finished PTtee. Have uploaded a mix for a select few ears and hopefully all being well, it should be Mastered next week and posted here shortly after along with the mastered version of Pointle...
