→ My nickname is "MARtinha", which is the diminutive for MARTA; I was born in BraSil (portuguese is the official language) and I live in Rio de Janeiro. I have dual nationality, sharing my heart with Italy, and I’m an eternal dreamer. That’s just it: "Society often forgives the criminal, it never forgives the dreamer" – a quote from Oscar Wilde.
→ Good friendships nowadays are rare. Why are so many people afraid of getting close and feeling what a hug is capable of???
→ I’m in love with life, which is short, too short. There’s a time to be a child, there’s a time to be an adult, there’s a time to be a clown, there’s a time to be a woman. The best of life is very simple, you just have to LIVE and take in your bag of memories only what is most “bello” (beautiful) that life gives to you.
→ I’ve lived in the United States (Manhattan Beach, Ca) and in Italy (Milan). I love to travel. If you invite me to go to the street corner, I’m already traveling... I'm just kidding. I know a part of the world. I hope to get to know the other half. Shall we?
→ Fond of good music, daily sex with all kinds of music (LOL) and I love to sing in the shower. I sing well, thank God. Amen.
→ I’ve played piano since I was 5. I’m not the female version of Rick Wakeman, but I’m practically “wonder-woman”, from pop to classic. I loved my first composition that I made when I was 3 years old, a one-note concert: Doh, doh, doh, doh, doh, doh, mi!!!
→ In gastronomy, I’m really good in the kitchen and I love my pans. You should try my TALKATIVE SHRIMPS, the DANCING BANANAS and the GAY CHICKEN. On Saturdays and Sundays I don’t leave the PC (read as “Pia da Cozinha”, meaning in Portuguese “kitchen sink” - a joke with Personal Computer).
→ As for art, “I can paint the town red”. Culture, I can’t live without it and cinema, just like in the Brazilian singer Rita Lee’s song, “in the little dark of the movie, sucking aniseed candies”. These are my "hobbies de chambre" (sorry, it’s a brazilian joke).
→ I dread cockroaches. Stay away from me, devils... monsters... aliens!!!
→ Another thing I dread: People that don’t know how to drink and that have no limits for alcohol and become an embarrassment. I drink socially only in special moments and I like wine, champagne and Baileys.
→ Yet another thing I dread: People that use lies as their truths. And the worst is that we, poor mortals and innocent creatures at the beginning of the friendship, believe all that... Ok, everybody lies, but some people are sick. I say that the behavior aimed at leveling down has its origin in feelings of imperfection or low self-esteem. IT IS A CHOICE THAT SOME HUMAN BEINGS MAKE WHEN THEY FEEL THAT THEY HAVE NOTHING TO SAY AND HAVE TO LIE, CHEAT ON PEOPLE, thinking that they are so important, when they actually are not. They’re needy. Creatures that try to make us go down to their level. All people are capable of shining because all of us have an inner light. Obviously the key is to allow people to shine without letting them use lies to call attention, THINKING THAT THEY CAN FOOL OTHERS FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES. I have a very simple solution for those people that reason doesn’t seem to have any effect on. I get away from them – not in fury or scared but with neutrality. It’s so they don’t drain my energy or drag me towards the black hole that is their lives. I’m not being a coward, I’m not avoiding anything and even less am I being insensitive. I’m being brave, wise and compassionate. I don’t have to be influenced or intimidated by "negativity". I continue to affirm that I do not like liars that do it just for status or to make friends.

→ Holy smoke… I’m not a smoker and I have nothing against those who like to be a walking chimney. My lungs are fine, thank you, in the area reserved for NON-smokers.
→ NO TO DRUGS!!!! Drugs are NOT my cup of tea.
→ I love to say silly things and make friends.
→ Right or wrong, I cheer for Flamengo, a very popular and famous team in Brazil which is running for the first place. FLAMENGO, the best footbal (soccer) team in Rio de Janeiro. The other teams disagree LOL - of course they do. I don't sell, change nor give away my suffering and my happiness with this team. Not to mention my dear Squadra Azzurra that brilliantly won the World Cup of 2006. ITALY!!!!
→ I like to watch volleyball games, footbal (soccer), ice-skating. Being interested in or not, I don’t play any of them.
→ My activities are work, interspersed with water gymnastics (I'm a fish), work and more work, treadmill during the evening news – running from the bad news, of course, because no one is made of stone. Fan of walks on the Barra Beach (the place where I live) or on the beach sidewalk. Laziness has no place here.
→ Ah... I can’t forget about my therapy – The BEACH, the SEA (called MAR in Portuguese), that’s why I write my nickname as MARtinha. I come coasting in on the waves and I’ve already gone under a lot, but I don’t lose my poise, even when sneaking off with sand in my bathing suit, and more sand in my hair. To lose my poise, NEVER!!!! LOL
→ Other than that, during my spare time, like the good “carioca” (people born in Rio de Janeiro) that I’ve become, I work A LOT, but I won’t talk about jobs and salaries (this isn’t the time or place to talk about this...).
I'm really down to Earth. I know what I want out of life and I follow my instincts.
