The Profane Existence Collective was formed in 1989 by a small group of people with the common goal of building a stronger and more politically active punk rock movement. As a collective, we are a small group of individuals that have joined together our ideas and abilities to work on numerous projects as part of a single entity, in an overall struggle against tyranny and oppression. To this end, we publish a bi-monthly magazine, release numerous records and CDs, run a huge mailorder and wholesale distro, among other things. After two long years of silence, BEHIND ENEMY LINES has finally recorded the follow-up to their brilliant Know Your Enemy and The Global Cannibal albums. This new effort contains an equally ferocious sound of their previous efforts, with powerful Scandi-crust with a machine-gun-like punch, and of course the scaything, hyper-political lyrics that aren't afraid to name names and list address for those responsible for fucking over the world. In addition ot the normal LP and CD packaging, each format also includes a seperate perfect-bound book with the lengthy lyrics, dozens of political posters, and additional artwork. The LP book measure the same dimensions as a standard LP jacket and is 48 pages thick, while the CD book is jewel-case size and measures 64 pages thick (both formats will fit in standard displays and distro boxes- just a little thicker than most other releases). If you do not already know BEHIND ENEMY LINES, then you are missing some of the most intense, anti-authoritiarian punk rock of our ages, made by veteran members of some of the most influencial Amarican hardcore/punk bands fo the last decade (AUS-ROTTEN, REACT, PIST, CAUSTIC CHRIST, etc.). APPALACHIAN TERROR UNIT
Armageddon Won't Be Brought By Gods... 7"

Every once in a great while, a new band comes along with such intense fury that they capitvate all who hear and see them — APPALACHIAN TERROR UNIT is one such band. Hailing from the mountians of West Virginia, ATU belt out a thunderous chorus of eco-awareness and chastisement for mankind's destructive ways (or at least those who are in control). Musically they combine classic punk, crust, and a hint of metal into a sound that's likened to later years NAUSEA, totally reinforced by the strong female vocals throughout. Adding to the over-all amazing quality of this EP are additionals touches of brilliance, like the brutally powerful recording by Jay at the Jamroom in South Carolina (Antischism, Damad, etc.) and cover / poster art by Marald. Normally this sort of praise for a job well done is reserved for bands who have been around the block once or twice—not for the debut EP from a band barely formed a year ago. This energetic band has already completed one mini-tour of the US, and are planning additional east and west coast visits in late 2006 and early 2007. They are also currently writing songs for their first full-length LP, due for release in 2007. HAPPY BASTARDS Box of Hard Knocks CD
E ugene, Oregon is better known for hippies and environmental activists than it is for punk rock, but that does not mean it can't also be home to a thriving underground punk movement too. Over the past couple of years, HAPPY BASTARDS have become well known as one of the local staples, playing with almost every touring DIY band that comes their way. They have also self-released a split LP with HUMAN CERTAINTY and did a brief tour out to Minneapolis for CLIT-Fest '05. Musically they play fast and powerful hardcore punk and are fronted by the remarkable voice of ("The Anti-") Christy, who also happens to be a columnist in Profane Existence magazine. On these twelve new songs, the HAPPY BASTARDS defy their name, playing in-your-face andf aggressive tunes with a message of anger, fear and despair (summed up brilliantly in Marald's cover art). Think of raspy female vocals similar to Mia Zapata from THE GITS played over an intense assault of thrashy but tuneful punk. They are about to embark on a Midewest to East Coast tour with THE COOTERS. While at present we can only afford to release this on CD, we eventually hope to make vinyl available. CD is only $7 plus postage.

ASS Sink CDEP
Five new tracks from the the snottiest DIY punk band in Minneapolis, whose message screams to be proud to be different, proud to Queer and be proud of non-conformist. Musically they play raw punk rock that would have fit in well with early 90's East Bay bands such as BLATZ and FILTH, playing rousing scream-along anthems. Four of the songs are originals, while the final song is an appropriate cover of FAGGATRON's classic Ass-Kick-a-Tron. ASS have been active in the Minneapolis punk scene for the past several years and active in the local homocore movement. Aside from venturing out to suburban venues where other Minneapolis band rarely go, thy have also self-released their first 12"/ CD, and host one of the largest DIY punk message boards in the Twin Cities on their web site. ASS was declared best new band of 2006 by City Pages!
