I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I am:
a Christian,
a father,
a son,
a brother,
a fiance,
a friend,
a musician,
a hard worker,
an optomist,
a realist,
a fun loving person,
a giver,
sometimes too kind for my own good,
a person who looks for the best in other people,
among other things.
I've been a musician for most of my life.
The 70's were an awesome decade to be on the road playing Rock-n-Roll. I had the great pleasure to be touring the south and mid-west with CHOICE during that "decade of decadence". I met so many awesome people and got to play some amazing shows.
In the 80's, the bands were Starshower and Debut. And, the opportunities and experiences were incredible. A few of the folks I've had the good fortune to make music with over the years have been:
Ringo Starr, Jerry Lee Lewis, Nigel Olson, Travis Tritt, Jim Messina, Neil Sedaka, Peabo Bryson, Isaac Hayes, Jermaine Jackson, Les Dudek, Frank Marino, Amy Grant, Vince Gill among others.
Locally I've played with and become friends with so many awesome musicians, many of whom are among my friends here on MySpace. If I were to make a list, undoubtebly I would leave off several and I don't want to do that.
Currently, I'm playing with a band called One Tree Hill . This band is a Christian based all original group that is more acoustically driven than my Rock-n-Roll bands of the past. We record our tunes and sell our CDs wherever we play, as well as on several Independent music websites. Check out my Videos! I've got a couple of songs from a local Live TV show we did last summer.
Another band I sometimes play with is called Legacy. We have also been known as the Turner Field Band, playing before Braves games from 97 - 02. And the Atlanta Falcon's House Band, playing during the Falcon's Games.
Finally, I'm on my second stint with Atlanta Beat . We're an 8-piece variety band with a song list that goes from Sinatra standards through the decades of disco, Motown, Rock-n-Roll, all the way up to current pop, hip-hop, and alternative rock. We play mostly weddings and corporate events. It's a fun gig with some awesomme musicians and singers. I've definitely had some ups and downs in my life. But I know that God's grace will take care of me, even in the worst of circumstances, and I've already lived through that. So, I look forward to the next season of my life with great anticipation and excitement.
Psalm 91:11:
"For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.

My Interests

Music (Obviously), my sons, my daughter, and my grandson (Mickee)
Quiet times with friends. Rowdy time with friends.
I love to go to concerts and sporting events, but finding the time can sometime be a challenge.
I also love to help young people, either ministering to them through One Tree Hill's music, or just sittng down and talking to them. So many kids need mentoring and guidance these days. Hopefully I can be a positive influence on a few.

Music:

Guitar Influences:
Eric Clapton, Duane Allman, Joe Walsh, Santana, Hendrix, David Gilmore, Steve Lukather, George Harrison, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Paige, Mark Knopfler, Chet Atkins, and many many more.
Other than that I love every kind of music from Old Motown, R & B, Classic Rock up to hip-hop & Metal.
If it's good music that speaks to me, I like it.
I also appreciate the classical composers. This comes from my father's love of music and his passion for sharing it with me, so I'm pretty well rounded as far as my musical tastes.

Heroes:

My father, who has been my biggest influence in my life when it comes to being a responsible father and a good compasionate man. I try to model myself after his example, but I usually fall short.
My oldest brother, who has been my hero ever since I was born. I couldn't ask for a better big brother.
My older son, Brandon, for being a young man with a huge heart, and a faith in God that has guided him throughout his life and allowed him to accomplish so much. And for staying with me in the ICU waiting room during the worst night of my life.
And last, but certainly not least, my youngest son, Marc. For enduring the trials that life has thrown at him recently, and for never feeling sorry for himself, instead showing tremendous concern and caring for others around him (especially me). And for accomplishing what many in his situation would have given up on. His strength is my inspiration to keep going when I get down...

Trust

Trust is such a fragile thing these days. There are so many ways that we can lose someone's trust. And once that happens, it can be almost impossible to ever regain that most precious of commodities. ...

You Just Never Know....

You just never know what's in store for your life...at any time. To quote Don Henley, in a New York minute.. everything can change. One minute, things are moving along great, then...without warning......
