I have been a professional musician since I was 15 years of age,and born of working class parents with roots in sharecropping and other agrarian persuits. At 15, my first band ( the Atlanta Vibrations)won a Vox sponsored Battle of the Bands which landed us the privilege of opening for the Beatles here in Atlanta August 18, 1965. I have had good luck ( for the most part)in the insuing years, getting to play with alot of great players and various screwballs and felons. I am most proud of my role in the band Hydra( 1969-1978). While being currently extinct, we tend to come roaring out of the volcano ( kinda like Rodan did once)and play some seriously good music like in days gone by. I am a husband,and father with a 33 year old son and an 18 year old daughter and a 13 year old son. I stand accused of being a "serial" husband,a ner-do-well from the southside, a selfish and callow youth in my day, but at 57 I am a Christian and regular member of Church of the Messiah(Anglican), a master Mason of Hickory Flat Lodge&#205, F&AM, and still a musician( despite the rousing round of indifference)My wife Donna has been with me these past 18 years and will hopefully keep me around a bit longer. My 33 year old has lost his way, and my 18yr old daughter is why we sold our encyclopedias, and my 13 yr old still loves Dad, so life is good I am blessed with a strong church family and many cousins as well as an aunt and uncle in Houston, and my maternal3rd cousin is Peter Jones who is one of the finest luthiers in the Atlanta area. I hope for the health to play guitar and all the rest of the instruments I love until the Lord takes me home.
