MYSPACELAYOUTSPY CODE END --With roots deeply seeded in classic metal bands such as Metallica and Pantera, Prevalence sets out to create its own brand of metal derived from a vast array of influences. What started out as a hobby years ago, soon transformed into much more. By the time the band was in high school, they had created music worthy of radio play that rivaled more established bands on the metal scene.Prevalence played well known venues in the Boston area, including the Middle East Club, which gave rise to great bands such as Godsmack. As the band puts it “We were playing in bars five years before we could legally drinkâ€. During high school, Prevalence played numerous shows and recoded three demos, the latest in the summer of 2002. Prevalence proceeded to take an indefinite break while they attended college. The band practiced on and off, but found it difficult with members scattered across Massachusetts.The hiatus came to an end recently, as Prevalence has regrouped and is ready to re-emerge as a force in the local scene. Armed with blistering guitar riffs and thunderous drum beats, Prevalence is destined to live up to their name and leave an imprint on metal as we know it.
