HEARTWORK

Formed in 2007, Heartwork has been in the works for several years now. Founder and drummer of the band Rick Dessi was involved in several bands prior to this project, was signed to an independent record label, but in the end, nothing took off. Rick decided to take some time off from the music scene. In the summer of 2005, Rick started writing songs and with plenty of ideas in mind, had already decided on who he wanted on the axe. Carlo Zappavigna, which happens to be Rick's cousin, immediately fell in love with the songs and was ready to create a monster. With their blistering aggressive riffs and melodic groovy edge, They started exchanging riffs, trying to create and develop their own style and sound which they acheived. Keyboardist Bruce then joined. Finally, in April of 2007, they got together as a trio for the first time and started hammering away and getting there songs down. In Oct, bass player Yann joined the band. Bruce got in contact with Yann on-line who happened to be a long lost highschool friend. They hit it off instantly, but in Jan 2008, Yann left the band due to other priorities. Still today, Heartwork has been auditioning singers and keyboradists since the split from Keyboardist Bruce. Vocally as of yet, no one has stepped up to the plate. However, Bass player Mark has joined the Heartwork family and has already proven that he belongs and makes a great addition to the band. The take no prisoners attitude has been reinforced in recent months due to the fact that as a trio again, Rick, Carlo and Mark have decided to enrich the quality of sound through the study of music, The capture of the so elusive spirit of music and the undeniable truth that we were born and bred to do one thing and one thing only...
