About Me

My productions are defined by strong, precise movement, intricate, well-orchestrated music, specific, surreal lighting, well-composed visual images, heavy symbolism, and minimalist sets. I create a world in which actors exist in. I respect and require each artist I work with to come in with their own work, their own ideas for their characters, and specific questions for me every day. I work as a collaborator and consider my position as one of both organization and authority. Although I do retain creative control of my projects, I encourage everyone involved to experiment with their own art and bring something new to the table. As a designer, technical elements are extremely important to my productions. I often design lights, sound, or even sets for the shows I direct. If I do work with a professional designer, I will bring the artist in during early stages of production as all three of these design facets play an important part of the total theatre that I intend to create.
