About Me

Formed in late 1987 The Kravin' A's was Bruce Brand's post Milkshakes vehicle(well one of them, anyway!) where the former drummer now found himself dusting off his Fender Telecaster and Vox AC30 to perform some annoyingly fine garage guitar playing! Along for the ride were former Offbeat(later Goodchilde and Groovy Uncle) Glenn Prangnell, ex- Daggerman(later Goodchilde, Sergeants Mess and Buff Medway's) Jon Barker and former Thee Mighty Caesar Johnny Gawen. Towards the end of the band, Johnny was replaced by Wolf Howard (ex-Daggermen,Buff Medway's, Goodchilde etc) The Kravin'A's recorded one album in February 1988 which remained unreleased until Billy Childish put it out on his Hangman label in 1991 on vinyl only, but "Krave On" was finally issued on CD by Get Hip in 1993. That same year, the boys reformed to record a four track E.P "Pushin' And A Shovin'" at the now legendary Toe Rag Studios, where Jane Prangnell and Holly Golightly(prior to her solo success) provided backing vocals as The Cork Tips! It was released on Screaming Apple Records. Although the band recorded some great cover versions (their take on The Classmates "Pay Day" is stonkingly good!) the strength is their originals. Have a listen to The Kravin' A's sound. Is it good? YOU KNOW IT IS!
