Yui Koda was born in Okinawa Japan in 1987. She started playing Marimba when she was 4 years old. She also started playing piano when she was 5 years old. When Yui was 5th grade she got a The Best Composer award at the JOC.
After 11th grade she came in U.S. as an exchange student. She was in high school band(Concert Band, Marching Band, Jazz Band and Jazz combo.) She got a out stand musician ship award from IAJE in 2005, and Woody Herman Jazz award in 2006.
After she graduated her high school, she continue studying music at Berklee college of Music in Boston.
She is studying with Ron Read(Steel pan), Dave Samuels(Vibes/Marimba),Ed Saindon(Vibes/Marimba), and Nancy Zeltsman(Marimba).Hi:-) I'm Yui Koda. Hope everyone enjoy my music!
