Gray Gurkin

An Acoustic Experience

About Me

There is something about a song being played on an acoustic guitar that just makes you feel good. Walking into a restaurant and hearing the tone of an acoustic guitar and vocals puts you in an undeniably comfortable space. Maybe it’s the simplicity of the whole thing or that a song stripped down to the basics makes it seem so real you just want to sing along. No matter what it is, it’s good to know “Virginia Acoustic Entertainer” Gray Gurkin is delivering that pure feel good sound.

Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, Gray Gurkin started writing and performing his original songs at the age of 16 in local coffeehouses. He expanded his songwriting skills playing his unique blend of Pop Rock in local bands during the early 90’s. After graduating college he made a living as a solo acoustic act on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. From there he headed down to Atlanta, Georgia, joining forces with the vibrant acoustic community. During the late 90’s Gray was heavily influenced by Americana Roots Music and decided to move to Austin, Texas to pursue his music. While in Austin Gray recorded an acoustic CD titled “Six Pack”. Gray moved back to his home town in 2002. Since then he has been very focused on the songwriting side of the music business.
Gray still loves to entertain and can be seen performing around his hometown of Richmond, Virginia. His “Acoustic Experience” is a sure fire way to take you mind off of things so you can just kick back and have a good time!
