Breathing life into death's rejections

About Me

I honestly don't know what genre this stuff falls into. With all the ridiculous sub-genres these days, you'd think I'd find one, but no such luck. What do you call black metal when you remove the guitar and use a keyboard instead? When there's as many low growls as high? When there's a strong swing influence? When most of the songs are mid-tempo, and blastbeats and double-bass drumming are only occasionally used? If you can come up with a cool, catchy name for this, email it to me and I will copyright it, so that I can charge you a quarter every time you say it. :)For now, I'm tentatively labeling this an experimental black metal project. I'm sure there's plenty of people who would argue that Alazar is not "metal" or "black metal" because it's not fast/heavy/evil enough. I suggest those people either come up with a cool, catchy genre name for me or go jump off a high building to prove how "heavy" and "evil" they are. Unlike many of the poser bands that are clogging the media these days, I do not make fast, heavy, evil music. I make GOOD music--and when it happens to be fast, heavy, and evil, that's just icing on the cake. The key to making good music is letting the song speak for itself--not telling the song what to say or how to say it.Final Mistake is most indicative of my style. The other two tracks up are from the early days of this project, when I had no way of multi-tracking and relied on computer accompaniment; they will be re-recorded without the computer. The vocals on Curse are entirely by Cody; the high growls by me will be on the upcoming demos (which you'll be happy to know are for the most part a bit faster paced). I have an album's worth of lyrics and half an album's worth of music, and I'm working day and night to bridge the gap. Thank you to everyone for your patience.--David

Band Website: currently under construction by a lazy broke bum
Band Members: David: Necromancer Of The Gothic Legion (keyboard, lyrics, vocals)Cody: Voice Of The Beast (vocals)Alexis: That Friggin Drum Machine (drums)NOTE: Pompous titles provided for entertainment purposes only.
Influences: Hecate Enthroned. Not that blackened death crap they've been doing with Dean, but the masterpieces they recorded with Jon as vocalist. Dark Requiems... And Unsilent Massacres is flat out the best symphonic black metal album I have ever heard.I listen to a lot of black metal (I prefer the more symphonic stuff), death metal, heavy metal, and rock. I don't much listen to punk, hardcore, or thrash, although it's great if it's done well. Occasionally you'll find me listening to classical, swing, or electronica.
Sounds Like: A ragtag orchestra of schizophrenics, forced to collaborate at gunpoint.
Record Label: We're doing just fine without one, thanks.

Check these bands out

These are some kick-ass bands that I never would have heard (of) if not for MySpace.  Most of these I would consider unique, some of them are pioneers in their respective genres, and a few of the...

FREE DOWNLOADS! And an EP

The EP is coming along well; I only have one song left to record music for, and two to record vocals for.  If time permits, I will re-record two of the songs to achieve higher sound quality....

Time for a change...

You may or may not have heard me say that I'm going to record vocals for my songs soon.  That's true, don't worry; soon there will be vocals courtesy of a talented singer.    But in the...
