JOSKI was born in Flushing Queens, New York during the formative stages of hip hop. Growing up in Queens, many aspects of hip hop culture heavily influenced his own creativity. Getting his first guitar at age 9, he quickly began writing his own songs and forming bands in what become a pattern for years to come. He has performed on stage since he was in his early teens but his first times performing in front of people was on Sunday morning in church with his guitar. As a teenager he played in bands and began to produce beats more seriously with the advent of FALSADOOM, a hip hop group
comprised of him and MIKE REKA , in which he produced the tracks and shared the rhyming duties. After completing an underground record entitled “PUSHING THE WHEEL†in 1998, JOSKI decided to concentrate on producing the beats while THE SAINT, aka MIKE REKA would just rhyme solo. After this time JOSKI met up with JUGANOT of STRICTLY LIVE fame and threw a few beats his way, one of which would get spins two years later on HOT 97’s “TAKIN' IT TO THE STREETS†show Hosted by DJ CAMILLO. This record also appeared on REKA'S first album IN THE BEGINNING which was released on the street in 2003 but was formally released in 2007. In 2000 JOSKI teamed up with old friend GUSTAPO, the founder of ILLSEED ENTERTAINMENT, and began producing tracks for him while his partner in NATURE BORN, B-ROCK was in Federal Prison finishing a bid. The first track he produced for him was JFK, which became an around the way street classic which appeared on many mixtapes and was performed everywhere from club SPEED, to club EXIT to JOE's PUB, and many other venues throughout the five boroughs of NYC. After working on some more projects JOSKI went out to LA to work with SAMANTHA MALONEY (HOLE, EAGLES OF DEATH METAL, PEACHES), on The score of "BOUNCE:BEHIND THE VELVET ROPE", a documentary ..rs that played on SHOWTIME, was syndicated worldwide, and had won an audience award at the Los Angeles Film Festival. After returning to New York JOSKI produced DOWN ON THE CORNER for GUSTAPO which received many spins on DR. DRE and ED LOVER’S morning show on New York’s POWER 105. A remix of this track was made featuring street veteran GENOVESE, and aftermath recording artist JOEL ORTIZ, which appeared on many mixtapes throughout the US. Then there was the “REALITY RAP MIXTAPEâ€, of which many of JOSKI’S tracks were on hosted by DJ ABSOLUT. This was a showcase for ILLSEED. In 2005 JOSKI Produced SCANDOLOUS for DJ CAMILLO'S "THE JUGANOT PROJECT", which was a mixtape to showcase the then upcoming rapper. SCANDOLOUS received plays on hot 97’s “THE RUSH HOUR SHOWâ€, showcasing JOSKI's skills as a guitar player to very large audience. Unlike many producers in the game, Joski plays many instruments and incorporates many styles as well a samples into his tracks. Through out all this time he played in a soul group called THE JIANT. JOSKI continues to work on new projects, including new music from THE SAINT and the upcoming album for FIRST COUSINS, as well as tracks for ALI VEGAS. JOSKI has produced tracks for such artists as THE SAINT,GUSTAPO,JUGANOT,GENOVESE,ALI VEGAS,SUMS,MC CONCEPT,SAMANTHA MALONEY,JOEL ORTIZ,BONAFIDE KINGS, and has just collaborated on a mixtape with rap legend MC SHAN.
