About Me

Sharea Harris is a Spoken Word Poet with no gimmicks, no smoke, no mirrors. Born in Houston, Texas and a resident of Huntsville Alabama , Sharea's journey as a Spoken Word poet has been 20 years in the making. She stumbled upon poetry at a young age and it was love at first hearing. Poetry has been her thick and thin, helping her describe some of lifes most trying and difficult times and helping her color her world with truth and unique perspective. As she began her collegiate career at Oakwood College she joined the on campus poetry group O.C Art&Soul. Taking part in a number of shows she took root and blossomed. Now exploring the world of poetry for herself she sees each day as a new opportunity to write her world a little more. The tools of her trade are paper, pen and voice, what else do you need. Sharea has found an experience that never leaves her audience the same she enters the ear , walks over the brain, through their conscious, opens their heart and swap souls. Embracing in a cycle that changes the listener as well as herself. Sharea can be seen at shows and open mics in the Huntsville and Birmingham area and her poetry showcase and open mic event RhymeSpot as she continues on her path through poetry sewing seeds of truth, experience and connection in those that listen.
