About Me

Some call Jill Scott and Lauryn Hill the mothers of the neo soul movement; many consider Kirk Franklin and Fred Hammond the fathers of contemporary gospel. Danica has followed in their footsteps, creating a genre all her own. Neo gospel mixes soul, depth and emotion with spirituality Danica Mobley, affectionately known as Sophia, was born on the sunny shore of Tampa, FL---where she was introduced to music and the arts at an early age. Singing in church choirs, playing instruments, and writing poetry paved the way for her trendsetting musical future. Upon moving to Huntsville, AL she found herself at home joining various groups around the city, which has inspired her to add her own take on one of the oldest genres of music. The album entitled Praise Peace Promise is an aggressive approach to contemporary gospel music. With this project she aspires to create music that is both relatable and colorful without losing the integrity of Christian music.
