Hi, I'm Sharon. I'm a wife, mother, birthmother, grandmother, sister and friend. I have been blessed to live a very full life surrounded by the people I love. I have an incredible husband named Tom whom I met shortly after giving up my oldest daughter for adoption in January of 1965. He was a rock for me during a very difficult time in my life. Not long after, we fell in love, got married and eventually had three children of our own, Kevin, and our twins, Kimberly & Keith. 18 years after parting with my daughter, Donna, we were reunited again. We have maintained a close and loving relationship ever since. I have been blessed with five beautiful grandchildren, Ashton, Evan, Averi, Karly and Jake. While my children were still young I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. I may have this disease but just to be clear, it doesn't have me. I still live a very active life. I started the MS LunchBunch group several years ago as a way for ppl like me to have a social outlet that didn't focus on the disease. It has since grown from 3 to nearly 300 ppl who meet once a month for lunch. Out of that has blossomed friendship, support, encouragement, and a way to give back to our community. I'm proud to say this past year we became an official charity organization and now new lunchbunch groups are popping up all over the country. Last year alone we raised $30,000 for MS research. Like Oprah I believe in "using your life". I'm also passionate about those who are affected by adoption. I work closely with the unwed mother's home here in my area to raise support and awareness for these women who, like me so many years ago, are alone and scared. As a birthmother myself, I know exactly what these women are going through. I am a very warm, outgoing person. It has been said that I "never meet a stranger." Just ask my kids and husband. :) My mantra in life is "Everything happens for a reason."
