Bob Mocarsky is a pianist, composer and arranger currently living in New York City. His new CD, (BOB MOCARSKY TRIO) available from http://cdbaby.com/cd/bobmocarsky is his first straight-ahead jazz trio outing, with New York based drummer Billy Drummond and bassist Santi Debriano...... His music integrates many genres from his experience in Jazz, both acoustic and electric - Pop, R&B, Latin Music and more. He has gained a reputation as an eclectic and expressive improviser with his range of musical experiences. Bob was a vocal accompanist for Bobby McFerrin, Mark Murphy, Maria Muldaur, Coco Lee (Taiwan) and the vocal group Pastiche; performed with Craig Chaquico, Bernard Purdie, Richie Cole & Bruce Forman, the Mel Martin/Harold Jones Big Band, Pete & Sheila Escovido, Eddie Henderson, Eugene Pao, and Sylvain Gagnon’s China Fusion Project. Credits include his electric jazz combo CD “THREE POINT PLAY” featuring Jim MacDermott, Kim Stone, Scott Kreitzer and Mike Stern; and co-writer/producer of the 'World Music' CD “EXPEDITION” featuring Scott Brannon on the hammered dulcimer. He has played at clubs such as New York's Bottom Line, San Francisco's Fillmore West and Keystone Korner, Shanghai's House of Blues & Jazz and Club JZ, Beijing's Big Easy........ Bob's other passions include photography, (album cover photo by Bob) Chinese movies, traveling and understanding other cultures. He spent six years in Thailand and China, all the while playing Jazz and meeting wonderful people from around the world.
