Are You Ready for Your New Local Jazz Radio Show On October 19th?!

About Me

This very moment - serene knowing that God's got it under control - when times are tough, this is when your faith has to walk - not talk. Prayer is requested - and I thank you ahead of time... Happiness crept up and stayed since November of 2006...that is when I started to incorporate The Prayer of Jabez into every day life. There has been greater clarity, eye-opening discoveries, and the recognition of true love ever since - a love that God promised in the latter part of 2006. Go get the book... here is the prayer..."Oh, that You would bless me indeed! And enlarge my territory. That Your hand would be with me - and that You would keep me from evil, that I may cause no pain." Sometimes, it takes a prayer like this to open the door that God has been waiting for us to open. I am not an evangelist, and have little time for those that preach one thing and live another - but for those of us trying to do good in the world - and having learned that all things work together for good for those that love God - this prayer can change your life, and inspire you to become the person that you were always meant to be. "Keep me from evil - that I may cause no pain." Embrace that. Ready for the miracles to happen in your life? They're happening in mine - they can happen to you, too!

Chris Botti with Paula Cole - My One And Only Love
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKWJe78nPIw

Chris Botti, with special guest Paula Cole on vocals, performs "My One And Only Love" in a December, 2005 concert in LA, California.

If you have ever loved someone like this - the words, the passion, the strength, the absolute sure...your face will resemble Chris Botti's as he looks at Paula Cole with loving amazement. This song will give me enough hope to last a while...and we need hope - those of us who love hard and unconditionally.

Waiting For A Star To Fall - The Best Song In The World
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRbnxh9vCKk

If you listen closely, and you know me - you know why this song means so much. To see two people who so enjoy each other...sigh...this is what life is supposed to be.

The Secret: 1st 20 minutes
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_b1GKGWJbE8

The learning continues with "The Secret." Be happy this moment...Ask. Believe. Receive... Wealth means more than money..."Your wish is my command." A believer in Jesus and a believer of this...when you hear these teachers discuss responsibility to others...THAT is the difference! Think Joy. Get Joy. GIVE Joy!

Marvin Gaye - Distant Lover (LIVE!)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcQI-QlTQFI

The Master delivers. You gotta be careful with this. If you're not ready to hear the truth, stop where you are. You can run, you can hide but you cannot escape from Marvin Gaye and what's in your heart. Pain. Misery. Joy abandoned. Feel it and know that you're alive.

My Interests

Positivity - in all forms! Empowering friends with what they need to enhance their lives - by so doing, I enhance mine. Whole food living...I was turned AROUND by Don Tolman who is an expert/genius on the subject... Autism/Asperger's Syndrome - my son is diagnosed, so this is one of my missions on earth...to be a pitbull activist in making his life better. To make SURE it's a glorious life! I had been a fan of another juice to help my son, but now I'm high on Mona Vie - and will become a distributor shortly. With all of those fruits and nutrients, it is going to help with gastrointestinal challenges, as well as neurological. So far (and it's early) it has helped Ma gain energy and more balance...and this doggone stuff tastes like chocolate and cherries! I will keep you posted on progress. :) One Mo Thing: www.womenandstress.com --- Dr. Stephanie Reid is responsible for my son's restored health and she will heal YOU via massage and incredibly sound advice!

The Bachelorette, DeAnna Meets Jesse's Family
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFdNjn96jt8

DeAnna goes to Jesse's home town, Breckenridge, Colorado, where she meets the parents.

The sweetest romance...two different worlds coming together to form such a sublime union. Their story absolutely melts me! And Jesse's parents do, too. Someday. Someday.

I'd like to meet:

ANYONE who can make a terrestrial, 24/7 Hybrid Jazz radio station a reality in Baltimore! Come ON, entrepreneurs - yer girl can dream so much and wish it into existence so that everybody makes money - but I gotta have a backup team of monied believers! I'll program it and staff it --- you handle the technical end and provide the building. I will do your PR and find others to do likewise - you take care of the bills! Let's get these local and regional musicians in town some recognition, okay? Let's build them a station so that they can make money with CD sales and gigs! The selfish millionaires in Smooth Jazz can take care of themselves. I want to take care of my OWN!UPDATE: a new show is about to launch, featuring Baltimore Jazz artists! More about specifics - other than it WILL be on Sunday night - after Tuesday, 9/23! Get ready for a new era of respect and attention for our beloved musicians! Also - Parents of teens who are high-functioning autistics - we clearly aren't fooled by the "high-functioning" part. We are grateful that our children can blend with society - but that does not mean that they feel accepted. Since 1 in every 150 are the odds we're talkin' now - we have to figure different ways for our kids to BE accepted. Without apology! As opposed to society dictating what the norm is - we gotta figure out new norms! Different ways of communication. I would LOVE to find parents on the same page. We have to save our children, and enable them to see how precious they are.Of course, you KNOW I'm gonna say that I'd like to meet Jesus...and I actually think He's got a My Space - let me know if you find Him. My fantasy is that He looks a little like Gregory Hines. In which case, my name is Mary Magdalene...

Allman Brothers with Duane!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQsAxHk54x4

Trippin' down Memory Lane tonight...I wrote a poem for Duane Allman once, and made sure he got it - in Atlantic City. It was about giving my virginity to him. He couldn't look at me on stage - it really got to him. Later, his brother took me in with his Southern glaze and said, "Oh, look - it's the little girl with the cee-gar!"

Christian the Lion - the full story (in HQ)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=adYbFQFXG0U

My precious Sarita sent this to me, though I had seen it some weeks back. Carol, Sarah and I had talked about what real love is, and this demonstrates it. Do you love somebody? Let them know! This very day.

We are the Ones (Barack Obama song)
http://es.youtube.com/watch?v=CBk32JsV9l8

To add to "We can change the world" - he is the only sane choice! It's clearly Obama's time. And we will have hope return to all of us!

Music:

Top Secret...anyone who really knows me also knows that I passionately support our Jazz artists in the extended Baltimore area. Doesn't matter about money - I don't get paid for support. It's just there and I will tell the world if I can. Now, there is an opportunity to really show how amazing this city is regarding its beloved music. Pray and send all good vibes my way. You KNOW what's coming, don't you? Yeah, you do. Yer too smart for yer own good! LOL

Amazing. Refreshing. Brilliant. Beautiful. An angel in our midst...be blessed.

fabulous ft. tamia so into you
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCIiWYh7QRM

In Philly a few years ago, I heard this all the time...Tamia's passion combined with Fab's sweet words...it made me crazy. I felt love, and I want to be loved this way. Simple. No questions. Acceptance. Wearing a ring...

Eric Marner "Live at Cross Keys
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uo0KHGJOXFo

Sooooo glad I found this! Whoever filmed this, I thank and bless you! I gotta get my fix of live & local musicians...and these Shoogies cook!

Elliot Levine Rockit
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1NU2NaVwOE

Elliot Levine doin' his funky thang with some of the other best musicians on the planet! When Elliot Levine & Urban Grooves come to your town, GO! Make sure you keep checking your bulletins as to when he plays within hearing distance!

Movies:

Love comedies with brains - am beginning to be really annoyed by those that stereotype to cartoon proportions. I try to veer away from subject matter that is anything but positive...there are directors who have childhood issues that were never resolved, and they force-feed their anguish to us - and many of us "buy" it as truth. It ain't! Enjoyed "Spiderman 3"...not just because it was visual overstimulation! It truly dealt with forgiveness, which is fascinating conversation...Desmond Tutu says, "If there is no forgiveness, there is no future." Agreed. Just saw "Wall-E" with my son. Amazing. Not only in its depiction of a bleak future for our greedy, overconsumed world - but in its heroism and demonstration of unconditional love. It was personal for me. For anyone who has attempted to awaken someone who is lost, it will grab you and stay with you always.

Television:

Guess I took a tube moratorium after the last so-called Presidential selection. We lived with my Mom, and she had the TV on almost 24/7. My son and I like to chill with music instead...okay, I'm lyin' - we watched "American Idol" - we loved Chikezie, my girl Carly Hennessy Smithson, Michael, Archie and the winner: David Cook! What a thrill to see that Shoogie accept the love of his audience! AND - Ma is - right or wrong - hooked on "The Bachelor"/"The Bachelorette" - if you get reeled in with the whole psychological study here - you know what I mean! Wow...it's exhausting! And voyeuristic - yea! LOL
B U F F A L O S P R I N G F I E L D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TbXKEjIApac

Searched for this and found it...the other side of me that begged to be released today! LOL. What an important time this was - the world was changing at a speed that was incomprehensible! Is that really Flip Wilson doing the intro? And only white people in the audience? 1967. I'm speechless.

Books:

"Da Vinci Code" rocked me to the foundation, and made me aware of unbelievable lies and hypocrisy in a Church that I had defended. Now, I am simply a believer in Jesus - and don't want anyone to define Him via cult teachings or denomination. YOU have a relationship with God - you don't require a go-between. Not a mortal liason, that's for sure. There are many who have the potential to be Jim Jones - certain priests or evangelicals - you have to listen to what is your journey, and follow God without a script. You are meant to serve a Divine Mission. And only you know what that is! And, if you have blind faith in any one human, remember - "Even the very elect will be deceived."
Earl Klugh - Rayna
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLH3ojI3ngA

Smooth Jazz Guitarist Earl Klugh performs "Rayna" before a live audience at the BET Studios in Washington DC (2000).

Ear Klugh is in my blood. A chemical reaction, like falling in love..."Rayna" conveys why he is so blessed - to be able to play adoration with a childlike heart...wow. Earl reminds me of a high school crush. Dave Turner was a lifeguard at 20th Street in Ocean City, NJ. Dave...ARE you Earl Klugh? :)

Eye to Eye: 'The Secret'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3qyb9sv28w

One of my favorite teachers from "The Secret" who spells it out in ways that are understandable. And adds a very important and urgent note...wealth is to be shared. And wealth is not ONLY money! The kicker - keep your life free of blaming others. Powerful! Rev. Dr. Michael Beckwith - see him in the movie on this page.

Obama in Berlin
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgRJ1cf7wK0

To see Europe falling in love with Obama is an unbelievable contrast to the Summer of 2001...do you remember? And, then, September came. Because of a man...you know his name. The world is changing now because of THIS man. What a fabulous time to be alive - to see our allies truly become that again!

Keith Green - Easter Song (live)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3kc1jDahU4

Keith Green - watch, hear and come closer to The Truth. He has gone to be with The Lord...so you'll know you'll be in good company when it's your turn :) Blessings on you!

Heroes:

Gotta say I am changed forever since seeing/hearing Melinda Doolittle, who was robbed on "American Idol." She is phenomenal, and possibly the best contestant that ever was - yet she was dismissed in favor of two far lesser talents, who were younger. And, since I have discovered African roots in my family's background - don't think it doesn't escape me that there is some racism involved here. I have become hypersensitive about this. Hope I will always stay this way. A more positive way to put it is vigilant! Another hero is Al Gore - a visionary way before his time. The man who was elected President by popular vote in 2000! My stepdaughter, Melisa, for perseverance. She is on a wonderful journey - we are so happy to see this! My son, for showing daily signs of the anointing...Mary Magdalene, who should have been revered in my Catholic upbringing - and was vilified instead. Again, "DaVinci Code" confirmed many suspicions - and brought me closer to The Truth. And, a new revelation - I view as heroes men who walk the talk. It's a tough world. For a man to make a decision to do what he can for love? Priceless. Men have some difficult paths these days...to allow themselves to be vulnerable - THAT is strength. To choose to stay when it might seem easier to run? Thank you for helping women to believe again...

Late at night, this reminder will help you sleep - a different kind of falling in love. From two masters who love Jesus.

You have to know how brilliant, beautiful and Godly my Jere B is - a spiritual mentor and wonderful friend, and I am so honored that our Lord gave the gift of Jere to me at a time when I needed him most! His music - SounDoctrine - is from his walk with the Power that sustains him. Chris & Keith are with him - & the heads of 2 Fans!

George Duke - Sweet Baby
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLT-ItE20tU

Jazz keyboard artist and vocalist George Duke and his band perform their hit single "Sweet Baby" in a 1983 concert in Tokyo, Japan.

How awesome is George Duke? A keyboard wunderkind and a songman able to bare his soul about a wrong choice...in love, you may not get a second chance. You have to hold on so that you never experience this kind of overwhelming, aching regret. You DO deserve love. Always remember that. And, if it's true - it will be there, waiting.

Remix: Al Gore's Challenge to Repower America
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAnQ1cFA_zM

One of the most authentic an brilliant leaders this country has ever had. My elected President in 2000. I can only pray that Obama and Gore will work together in a fully conscious, spiritually awakened administration!

ANGELS AMONG US-Becky Hobbs LIVE in Poland!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0MyTcn2pLH8

A true friend "found" me today - this lady is one of the most amazingly talented, childlike and beautiful beings on the planet. In my earlier career, I was a Music Director at many country stations and always played Becky Hobbs. In-between jobs, Becky was there - loving me whether I could help her career or not. I worship her!

Random Thoughts...

My college friend, Bill Sapsis, used to say: "I never saw anyone who was able to articulate insecurities as well as you." Hmmm...and another "friend" - LOL - from that time said, "You're not the prett...
