About Me

When I was a kid I would sing and dance in front of the mirror to Madonna, Duran Duran, and Prince. At the time I rebelled against my Costa Rican parents’ mariachi music, but that didn’t stop my mother from grabbing me out of my seat and making me dance with her all the time. Obviously, I got my groove from my mom.I discovered my percussionist, patricio while I performed as a contestant on a live game show at Galapagos Art Space in Brooklyn. He kicked in without a cue on his cocktail kit and we instantly clicked. Our new album is at the forefront of the pop-mariachi movement. ’el sol’ is a collection of original songs and updated Mexican classics featuring an inspired cover of Bread’s ’if’ and our hit single ’sunshine (ode to spring)’.
