My Interests

Meet Corinn. Lone Star Boxer Rescue has taken her in and is making sure that her sarcoptic mange is taken care of. Along with the painful, itchy infection she has on her skin and in her ears, she also has a leg that was broken and 'healed' on its own since no one was taking care of her. On the up side, she's getting better every day, is very sweet and is on her way to a bright future in a forever home. If you'd like to help with Corinn's vet bills, you can donate on her behalf by going to www.lsbr.org and follow the links. In the meantime, we'll keep you all posted on her progress. Thanks for supporting rescue!

I'd like to meet:

You don’t have to be rich to help a boxer in need. You just have to care. And we do. But we can’t do it without your help. Lone Star Boxer Rescue (LSBR) is dedicated to rehabilitating and finding homes for abused, abandoned and homeless boxers. Since 2000, LSBR has facilitated more than 600 successful adoptions. LSBR is a non-profit 501c(3) organization that is completely dependent on monetary donations and volunteers. We do not have a shelter, so we rely heavily on foster homes. Even with their help, we still have to board a number of our rescue boxers. LSBR has relationships with area shelters and animal control facilities, and we also work with owner / stray surrenders. Every week we pull boxers that otherwise would be euthanized because of health issues such as demodex, sarcoptic mange, heartworms, broken bones, etc. We fully vet all dogs in our program as well as spay and neuter. We also microchip all dogs. Our adoption fees cover some of the costs, but don’t even begin to cover the expenses for severe medical conditions, such as the ones listed above. We offer support to adopters as well as information to the general public on the boxer breed. We have a thorough application process, and we do home visits on applicants to ensure a good match between potential adopters and our boxers. If the family is no longer willing/able to care for a dog adopted from us, our contract requires that the dog be returned to LSBR. Our volunteers – people just like you – work tirelessly to heal the bodies and spirits of the dogs who come to our program. Like you, we have full-time jobs, families and dogs of our own. There are many ways that you can help us continue our mission, including donations, volunteering, and fostering. Our website offers information on upcoming events, opportunities for financial support, and much, much more. Please visit www.LoneStarBoxerRescue.com to learn more about our organization, the dogs currently available for adoption and how you can help...
