About Me

GOBR'S SPECIAL NEEDS DOG:HI, I am Sophie. Yes, I am a young girl who has had a rough start in life. I broke my right hind leg (distal tibia) at the growth plate around the first of the year. Plus I had an open sore close to break. I also developed an infection. Two weeks later, my family decided that they couldn't help me any more, so they decided to surrender me to GO Boxer Rescue. My foster family picked me up. But for some reason, I didn't get to spend much time at first at my foster family's home. I had to spend my first three days (in the rescue) at the vet's. My foster mom said that was because I was so sick. I came in with a high fever, open sore, and a broken leg. I did get to go home for the weekend, but for some odd reason, my foster mom wouldn't let me play. I had to stay on someone's lap or in my crate. My foster dad took me back to the vet's office on Monday. They had to sedate me to get a splint/cast on my leg. Plus my vet took a culture of my open sore. Now that I have the cast/splint on, I have to go to the vet's every other day to change the bandages. During this time, I was taking antibiotics to try and clear up the infection, but my sore just wasn't healing. The results of my culture came back, and the news was very bad. My foster mom said that I have a drug resistant bacterial infection and they also believe a bone infection. They changed my antibiotics. I continued to go to the vet's three times a week for a bandage change. A week later, the vet's decided to change my antibiotics again due to my injury not getting better. I have now been on this medicine for 19 days, and my sore is now healed up.Unfortunately the damage is done. On Monday February 18, the vet took more x-rays. My growth plate was too damaged from the break and the infection. My bad leg is now shorter than the good one. Plus it is starting to turn inward. My foster mom said that I will have to loose my leg. I don't know what that means but I know my foster mom says that I will be able to play all I want soon. I can't wait to be able to play and act like a normal young girl. All of Sophie's treatment has been costly. Plus the cost will be going up for her up coming surgery. My Interests

I'd like to meet:

GOBR'S BOXERS READY TO FIND THEIR FOREVER HOMES! Hi Everyone! My name is Harley and I am a 10 month old brindle boy. My foster Mom says that I am absolutely gorgeous…I tell her that I know!!My previous owners left me outside all the time, so my foster Mom is working with me on house and crate training. She says that I’m doing very well with this. I still bark for a bit when I am first put in the crate, but I settle down pretty quickly and sleep for the whole night.I am still a puppy, and a big one at that...very solid (my foster Dad calls me dump truck!) so the most important thing to know about me is that I need LOTS of exercise. I am an excellent leash walker and I also am great jogging alongside my foster mom for up to 4 miles or more.I love playing with my foster boxer brother. We romp around, chase each other and play tug-a-war with stuffed animals. I have a foster cat sister too. She always lies on top of the washer. I look at her, but I have never tried to bother her. She only gets down when my foster brother and I are not around. What a scaredy cat!My foster Mom does not have any kids, but her friends do. They come over to visit and my foster Mom says I am great with them. I do not jump, but I do like to lick them! They run all around me playing and I just run back and forth with them.Anther about me is I love to lick…so if you would like to get lots of boxer kisses from me, go to goboxerrescue.com and fill out an application. Remember to mention me, Harley3455. Hi my name is Cleo. I am a fawn girl, and am 1yr. old. I am up to date on all my shots and spayed. My foster mom says I am the best dog around. I am doing good with house training and I don't chew things that don't belong to me. If I do happen to pick something up and she says "no" I will drop it and walk away from it. I am learning to walk good on the leash as sometimes cars and things may startle me and I will pull back on the leash, my foster mom reassures me it is o.k. though and I will continue to walk. I love to play with my foster brother, and also with my skin foster siblings as well, they are so much fun. My most favorite thing to do is cuddle on the couch with anyone who is willing, as I am a big lover. I do love to run so I am hoping for a nice fenced yard I can run and be free in. I am crate trained and do well in it, especially if my foster mom throws a treat in it for me, once I am in I don't panic, after I make sure I have found every crumb of my treat I may whimper for just a minute but I settle in very nice and will nap. If you think you have the time for me and I am the girl for you. please fill out an application and remember to put my name, Cleo on it. Hi, my name is Blitzen. I am a 3 ½ month old black male boxer mix. Everyone keeps saying that I must be mixed with some kind of hound due to the length of my ears. I am up-to-date on all my vaccines. I am scheduled to be neutered on March 20. I love to take my monthly heartworm preventative. My vet says that I am going to be a big boy due to my current size and my large paws. I am not completely house trained yet but I am only a baby. I get along with all my four-legged foster brothers and sisters. I love to play with my four-legged and two legged foster brothers and sisters. I don’t know how I would do with a cat. By the way, what is a cat? I like to go on walks, play outside, and play with toys. I am a very active and hyper puppy. When I get tired, I love to snuggle with someone. I also love to get tons of kisses. If you want an active young puppy to walk, play and snuggle with, fill out the GO Boxer Rescue application to adopt and make sure you ask for me Blitzen #3469HI, I am Katie. I am a fawn female that is around 2 years old. I am completely up-to-date on all my shots, heartworm negative, and have been heartworm preventative. I have also been spayed. I am crate trained, I will go right into my crate for a biscuit. I am completely housetrained. I love to go for car rides and for walks. I am a strong girl and will try to pull, but my foster family is working with me to help this. I love to play fetch the ball or any toy. I am super lovable girl. I love to sit on my foster dad's lap in the evening. Sometimes I even get to sleep with my foster mom and dad. I get along with well my foster four legged sisters and brother. I enjoy playing with them. I also like to play with my human foster brothers. I may do better with older kids, due to I try to play rough. My foster mom and dad gets after me for playing to rough. I would do better in a home where there isn't any fence. I love to jump my foster mom 4 foot fence. I have been known to climb a 6 foot chain link fence. If you love to go as much as I do, please fill out the application and ask for me Katie.Hello, My name is Ceaser. I am a fawn neutered 1 1/2 year old boxer boy. I live with 2 boxer sisters and a bouvier de flandres brother and get along with them fine. I didn't have alot of training before I came to my foster home ( I liked to chew alot of stuff and was kinda scared) but I have gotten much better about that. I do have a small skin allergy that requires me to have a fish and potato dog food diet and I also have a low thyroid so I need daily medicine that costs about $25.00 a month. My foster family believes I would do better in a home with no small children and no small animals. They also require an owner with previous boxer experience because I still need some training. I am completely house trained and crate trained. I love to play with rope toys and balls. I let my foster mom smother me with kisses cause she loves me so much. Do you have the time and dedication to help me become the great dog I know I can be? If so please fill out an application to adopt and mention my name. It's Ceaser! Thanks! Hi, my name is Patches. I am a 2 year old white boxer boy. When the animal shelter found me, I had some open wounds on my body. No one is sure what happened to me. They couldn't tell if I had be attacked by another animal or if something had spilled on me and burnt my skin. I was started on antibiotics because the wounds were pretty infected. But the wounds are almost gone and my hair is growing back! Yay! I look much better now.Since I was so underweight when I first came into rescue, I've been pretty touchy with other dogs coming near my food. I'm afraid they may take it from me. So I may be best as an only dog so I don't have to share my food.I am neutered and up to date on my shots. My foster mom says I am real good boy, I don't get into stuff in the house, I'm house trained and crate trained. My foster mom has even started to leave me out of the crate when she goes away.Oh! My foster mom reminds me to tell you I like to sleep on the bed, so if you need a bed warmer....I'm your guy!If you have the love and the time for me please adopt me? Please go to Go Boxer Rescue to complete an Application to Adopt so they know you would like to adopt ME! Be sure to mention my name on the Application to Adopt. Remember, I'm Patches. Hi! My name is Wilma, and I could be your best friend! I came to GO Boxer Rescue from a high kill shelter in Ohio, and obviously the shelter people were confused about my breed! I am NOT a Boxer (though I may be a little bit Boxer). What I am is an American Bulldog. American Bulldogs are known for their steady temperaments and for being great with children. They are known for being brave, protective, and loyal. I can tell you that I am all these things! I am a GREAT guard dog, because if I see someone on my property, I bark. I have a great bark! But once my foster Mom says it’s OK, I stop barking and start giving kisses instead. I am very friendly with everyone I meet. I live with 2 female Boxers, and while I don’t instigate the playing, I will play with them if they start it. I’d be fine with another dog, or without another dog. What I really like is playing with the 8 year old human boy who lives here. We play soccer – he kicks it, and I chase it. We also play Frisbee and fetch. I might be too exuberant for very small children, but if you have a boy or a girl who needs a friend to play with, I’m your gal. Right now, I live with 2 cats, and I have much respect for them. One is very mean and if she is standing by the door, I won’t come in until someone moves her. The other one is nicer and he and I get along fine. I sorta like to chase, but just in fun, and if my foster Mom says to stop, I stop. My crate is my favorite place to sleep, even if the door is open. I am very good at going potty outside and not inside. I didn’t have any manners when my foster Mom brought me home, so I could really use some obedience classes. I am a very fast learner and I’m sure I would be the star pupil! I just love doing what my person tells me to do – that’s what Bulldogs do. So if you have a kid who needs a friend, or you want a companion who will be loyal and brave, please go to www.goboxerrescue. com and apply today!
