Soundtrack to a Culture of Resistance

About Me

Raw in your face metal. No gimmicks. No bullshit. Politically and racially charged. This is reality.Washington D.C. – the same city where over 25 years ago the band Bad Brains created the genre that is nowadays referred to as hardcore, and now where we find modern pioneers Throwdown Syndicate who combine elements from various styles such as hardcore, grindcore, and hip-hop to create a new and unique genre of aggressive metal. There is never any limit placed on the sound however, and once you attend a Throwdown Syndicate show, you quickly realize forays into blues, funk, and instrumental based hip-hop are not uncommon. On the latest release, The Ghetto Metal EP, James Reeves wrote all the lyrics and performed all the vocals, guitars, and bass. Mike Britt performed all the drums on the record. The EP was recorded at Oblivion Studios and engineered and mixed by Mike Bossier who can be reached at (301) 574-0980. Throwdown Syndicate has recently acquired guitarist Brian Flythe and are playing live regularly to promote the new album
