Canadian Invasion

America's Finest Band of Faux Canadians!

About Me

Canadian Invasion is a crack team of Philadelphia pop rock 'n' rollers, desperately protecting America from the pernicious influence of our northern neighbor's ideology of gun control and healthcare-on-demand by celebrating the esteem-building value of suburban American life.
CI's 2006 record, Songs for the Atco Ghost, garnered praise from fans and critics alike for its "breathy jangle that’s both bubblegum and alt-country" (Philly Weekly). The guys are poised to release the follow-up to Atco Ghost, recorded with Philly uber-producer Brian McTear of Bitter, Bitter Weeks fame, later this year.
"The group has formed a genre of its own, we're calling it Americana BritPop. Don't be surprised if this five-piece ends up influencing others in the future, because frankly, they're really, really good." ~ On Tap Magazine
"[Canadian Invasion] possess British-pop sensibilities mixed with guitar-driven American rock that can leave you happily humming the tunes." ~ Washington Post
"a gently rocking landscape of sublimely catchy choruses" ~ Philadelphia City Paper
"...a heady early-/mid-'90s rock sensibility...enough to make you wonder why you haven't put the Lemonheads in your CD player in so long..." ~ Philadelphia Weekly

"Melodic and multi-layered, with rich harmonies and full production"
"Offers lush three minute utopias." ~ WAMU Radio "Metro Connection" (NPR)
"Canadian Invasion holed up at Philadelphia’s Miner Street Studios with the amazing production team of Brian McTear and Amy Morrisey to record the followup to their Songs For The Atco Ghost and recorded what is currently one of the best unreleased records of 2008 in Three Cheers For The Invisible Hand, a jangly, harmony laden, lyric rich gem of a power pop record." ~ Bag of Songs Blog
