Started touring with the De Moss Family when he was 5yr's old.. He became quite the showman..the director of the program, did the P.R..was a composer..and a versatile entertainer

George De moss...Played Two Guitars at the same time, swinging the instruments through the air Indian Club fashion..and if that wasn't enough

............................................
George gave a most remarkable exhibition of skill, not only in the rare technique which he rendered his numbers, but by doing what perhaps no other musician can do,PLAY TWO CORNETS, AT THE SAME TIME..an alto and soprano, with the most perfect blending of notes..It was precisely as if two performers with different instruments were rendering the music

AUG.10, 1872 marks the first public performance of Oregon's most famous musical family in Cove, Union County. The DeMoss Family Lyric Bards, as they were called, soon became the west's favorite entertainment group and were enthusiastically welcomed at many remote cowtowns and mining camps as they toured throughout the western states.

The DeMoss Lyric Bands began touring in 1872; their career of musical touring lasted more than 35 years. Family members were James M. DeMoss, his wife Elizabeth, and their five children--Henry, George, Lizzie, Minnie, and May. The children were trained by their parents and also attended the Royal Academy of Music in London. Their first tours were confined to Oregon. Their specialty was playing 40 to 50 different instruments during one performance.
