scavenger hunt (for my short film):
click "watch the movies" on the left, then "best of 2006", click the button for the other CMF films in the way bottom right, select "boston 2006" from the moviefest menu, then "tufts university" from the campus menu on the bottom. finally, click on "smell the roses". god damn, they could have made that a bit easier. anyway...
say hi to theMark , meet her, shake her hand...
i was their drummer from October 2005 to hiatus in July 2006 and am playing on the recordings of BooseMeaver and Giant Fish in Bear Suits, which are in the final stages of being mixed and mastered by adam arrigo , but the unfinished tracks are up for you to hear at your leisure. Paul Farris , our singer, was tragically taken from this life in a car accident recently. the depth and beauty of his lyrics are matched by few i have ever encountered. Paul, you will always have a place in my mind and heart. i hope our travels bring us together in another time to rock some other dimension. love to you and Kate and your families and friends. rest in peace, brother.
amorphous music project: Dr. Miaoux
its basically just me playing music with whomever is around, which is sometimes just me.
electronic musical instrument design class: click on the MARTHA (MIDI-Activating Rhythm-Transforming Hemispheric Apparatus) project. I basically did the fabrication, seth goldenberg did the programming, and sounds were sampled from my record collection by Matt Kay and myself.
&copy Tufts fall 2006.
experimental music class: click on "Fall 05" on the left and then "Concert: Composition Projects" - waves without water was electronics based but featured some metal pipes, a fan/paper, and a bicycle wheel, along with some help from ted , alex, and colin. the duo i was in was based on a graphical score i wrote wherein the movement and texture of two separate lines on the page represented the respective instruments. a volunteer from the audience played the djembe while i played a flute/oboe thing i made out of a metal pipe i found in the garbage.

My Interests

theoretical physics, motorcycles, chillin with animals, pseudonyms, percussion/concussion, NdFeB magnets, scratching and gnawing on things as a sign of affection, squishy toys, polyrhythms, metals, the frequency of brainwaves, cooking, alternative sources of energy, not watching television, improvised music, mailorderyaks.com, human powered machines, katamari, unordinary contraptions, leaving something to the imagination, art that recycles

I'd like to meet:

people that do more than just exist, anyone that wants to make homebrew mechanical generators, anyone that wants to build self-destructing kinetic sculptures, people who dont support the war or our corrupt politicians, animals that can talk, people that squeeze their toothpaste from the bottom of the tube, anyone who wants to take a productive motorcycle ride, people who dont use their fucking air conditioner when its 70 degrees outside, someone who knows how much fruit is thrown out by juice companies, anyone that truly values things like food, water, and paper, people that dont use gay as a derogatory term, someone who thinks they know how to play R.A.D. for PS2, people that have composting toilets, anyone that knows the "good idea, bad idea" segments from animaniacs verbatim, people that dont smoke cigarettes because they dont want to support the most consumer product ever (besides gasoline), its corporations, and the insane amount of toxic pollution it causes to the world and the people we love. if you enjoy fresh air, hopefully that means you. if you really, really have to, at least roll your own and put the butts in the fucking garbage. its not a difficult concept.

if you can watch these videos without crying, you should seriously reconsider your thoughts on life, what it means to be alive, and how another living thing should be treated.
