...and how...
I'd like to meet:
I want to meet anyone else that has the drive to continue to help change the world for the better. It's a fairly laughable concept to some people, because how can one person change the world? Well, it's been done, and it was never done by one person alone... it's done when we all work together. While there are many people working hard to change the things that are very wrong right now, people working to help shift the balance of possession and poverty, I want to work on giving power back to the artist. How many more times will the artist's vision be hacked down to fit a numbers game? How many more creative visionaries will lose their own power and never see the success they deserve? With many artists you'll find that the money they get goes to fuel more art, the only luxury they desire is freedom of movement, travel, to help their message get out. There are many eye-opening things that aren't allowed to get out to the public, and if they are, by the time they get there, the message is hidden and easily overlooked. "That's just life"... well it doesn't have to be. And if I have to be an ideal-chaser, a dreamer, I don't mind, because I'm far from being alone. I know many. And I want to meet more. Together we can each say our own thing, and it doesn't have to be competition. There is more than enough to go around. So let's make a playdate, brainstorm, drink some wine and toast to life. If we can't succeed in changing the world, at least we can feel alive with every breath that we take, and take joy in the beauty that each of us are as individuals.
Music:
Saphin... Earl Slick... Jack Schell... Mike Garson... David Bowie... Prick... The Flaming Lips... My Morning Jacket... The Dresden Dolls... Rasputina... Nine Inch Reznor... Jigsaw Soul... Zerobridge... The Cure... Iggy Pop... Shitty Williamsberg recordings from hipster boys and girls... And everything else
in the world ever, too.
Movies:
I have to
be dragged kicking and screaming or just stoned to sit down and enjoy a movie
that I haven't already seen- dunno why, really- but yet I will sit and watch
Silence of the Lambs three times a day for a week straight (I HAVE done that). In all seriousness, though, my alltime FAVORITE movie is "Return to the 36th Chamber" (also known as "Return of the Master Killer").
Television:
Don't watch it much. WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO WAYNE BRADY?? I miss him... If anyone knows anything about him now, please feel free to tell me.
Books:
Revelations
in the Bible. Anything by Robert Anton Wilson, Israel Regardie, Lon Milo Duquette and a host of other occult bookspeopleauthors, Bowie biographies, things found in the business motivation section of Barnes and Nobelssss, psychology philosophy, Fingerprints of the Gods was neat, I believe in the end of time as we know it and seek it in everything I can find, especially books. Cloud of Sparrows. I also have a severe comics addiction, and a seriously silly and mostly severe addiction to manga. The illustrated Story of O was good, too. It was goooooood.
