Dawn Of Meridian

The whole Dawn of Meridian story begins in September of 2005, when Dora (vocs) proposes to Chris (keys), Vlassis (Guitars) and Stratis (drums) to form the band after, having known them for some time. More musicians would be needed however for the band to take shape so in the summer of 2006, after a period of trial and error and constant line-up changes, David took over the Bass. Aigli (Cello) soon followed since the band found that the aural possibilities of this instrument suited the sound of the band quite nicely. The last member to complete the current line-up of the band was John (guitars), having joined in December 2006.

During November 2005 and May 2006, the first couple of songs were written, developed and arranged and the band entered the studio in July 2006 to record their first 3 track demo. A feat that was completed in December 2006, amidst many difficulties and unforseen events.
Dawn of Merdian’s music is all about multiple layers. A contemporary blend of rock/metal including folk influences, relying heavily on atmosphere and incorporating progressive flourishes. A trait that characterizes the band is the use of extended structures, without sacrifising the flow and cohesion of the song. The band’s music is one in which technical ability is there only to serve the feelings evoked.
The band has recently completed its demo and is currently writing and rehearsing the songs that will appear on its debut album, as well as getting ready for live gigs.
