VASILIS ASIMAKOPOULOS

My name is Vasilis Asimakopoulos. At the moment my practice deals with the subject of deconstruction and representation. In other words, I am interested in breaking down beings and objects to their basic components and elements. Once isolated, they are accumulated or grouped together (but not fully combined) in a fashion that reminds building blocks. Eventually, this logical structure becomes the physical representation of the initial subject. Other works deal with representation that refers to the state of forms that exist between that of our reality (everyday life) and that of the deconstructed sense. This is a "grey area" where the subjects appear as if in flux and where the possibilities of form are endless. Below is a sample of my artwork
