Avalonica is looking for a drummer! (read till the end)
Avalonica’s melodic rock sound evolved in 2007, when composer-guitarist Janne and singer-lyricist Stiina started a real co-operation together. Pieces got together immediately. Stiina lives in Helsinki and Janne in Spain, but he visits Helsinki regularly. Both have been involved in the music scene for a long time. During the spring 2007, Avalonica was developed mostly via the Internet. Janne sent songs, Stiina wrote the lyrics and rehearsed the singing parts. They held a couple of demo sessions and one really efficient studio day in Helsinki.
Soon Avalonica started looking for band members. Tuomas the keyboardist and Jani the bassist were found right away. They soon realized the band needed another guitarist and Jyrki joined in. There were plenty of drummer candidates who visited the rehearsals and tried out, but then Rami came and he got the job right away. Avalonica had taken its shape. The skills of the band members have been proved in various bands before.
Avalonica’s music is modern rock, where pop-melodies, metal guitars, and a floating keyboard sound wrap around each other irresistibly. The lyrics often deal with the rollercoaster of love, searching for balance. But even after the darkest night there will always be a new dawn.
Avalonica rehearsed efficiently and was more than eager to make the audience go wild. Already the very first gig was magic and there are many more to come.
Spring 2008 Avalonica released promo-cd including three songs: Ice Queen, Vicious Circle and Whisper in Your Heart. Vocals are produced by Ville Tuomi, the singer of Suburban Tribe and United Underworld. Tuomi also sings backing vocals on the cd.
In May the drummer Rami parted ways with Avalonica due to personal reasons. Good luck with all the future projects! Avalonica is now looking for a new drummer. If you're talented and interested in playing with us please contact us.
