TOUGH ENOUGH PROMOTION was formed in the year 1994 by Silke Yli-Sirniö, starting off with management, publishing and promotion services.
Silke Yli-Sirniö has a background as a long term DJ in Berlin, then started to work for one of the biggest German independent distribution companies, EFA, in 1989, taking care of the promotion of the popular American hardcore labels ALTERNATIVE TENTACLES (Jello Biafra, Dead Kennedys, DOA etc), TOUCH & GO (Jesus Lizzard, Urge Overkill, Pegboy etc), DISCHORD (Fugazi, Babes in Toyland etc).
The idea for Tough Enough Promotion was born when Silke started the international management for the Finnish band WALTARI in 1993 and soon gained more requests from other bands like: HYBRID CHILDREN, SUBURBAN TRIBE, KYYRIA, IN EXTREMO etc.
The focus on Finnish bands continued through the years and rose into the international attention carried by the huge success of the band HIM in 1997, who Silke got licensed to the German record label GUN. TOUGH ENOUGH has been working with HIM ever since, taking care of the international promotion coordination and German press promotion, receiving numerous gold, platinum and triple gold awards over the years.
Another milestone is the highly awarded (several gold awards) work with NIGHTWISH, started in 1999, working the promotion in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and was authoritative to the band´s rising success.
During that time TOUGH ENOUGH had a collaboration with the German label Drakkar Entertainment (BMG), doing product management from the year 1999 – 2005. Silke promoted numerous bands for Drakkar, such as LORDI, LAB, DIABLO, ETERNAL TEARS OF SORROW, SODOM, KREATOR, ZERAPHINE, DE/VISION, KILLER BARBIES, GOTHMINISTER, TWISTED SISTER, WARLORD and many more.
In the summer 2005, TOUGH ENOUGH moved to Helsinki to focus even more on the Finnish market and be right there where a lot of gifted bands are born, looking for new adventures.
Recently working on LORDI´s promotion, who were representing Finland in the Eurovison Songcontest 2006 in Athens….AND WON!!!! ?
NEGATIVE just performed a great and almost sold out tour in Europe!
