DJ Redz......this is where it all started. ____________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________ ____It started on a warm summers night back in 1990 going into a block of old high rise flats late at night in Hackney. I was following my brother and TNT closely. Being a 13yr old bmx boy, I found it all a bit scary but exciting.___________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________ _____________We walked into the flat and were shown to the kitchen, we could here the music the hall way and Millie’s wicked unique style of Mc’ing. We opened the door to the Kitchen and were greeted by Litent Stitch on the 1200’s and Millie on the Mic with a huge old Motorola phone giving shout outs and looking at the pager “ big up the Defection crew 89.4fm” You could feel the buzz of the radio hitting you as soon as you entered the room these guys where smashing it. I looked across the little kitchen, Munch and TNT were get ready to do set, A very young MC shabba and Mix Master Max sitting there head nodding to Guy called Gerald playing (To f__ked to dance) on the left hand deck. I can remember getting home from school each evening and cautiously playing weekend Rush tapes and Defection fm sets while trying to copy mixes on my brothers DD Phase 2’s.______________________________________________________ _______Memorys of getting into raves (under age like Liberty) at the old tesco’s.__________________________________________________ ___________Hearing B lines rumbling intil until my ears wistling with a high pinch sqeal .___________________________________________________________ __At this Munchie decided to start Perception (SUNDAYS)FM 105.4 to represent the Home Counties.___________________________________________________ __________The original Perception crew 1992 DJ SHARPY, DJ TERRY B, CHERRY B, DJ GREENY, DJ YELLA, MC BUZZ B ,DJ PREFFSOR MC MADNESS, MC TNT, strictly played hardcore & jungle,_____________________________________________________ ________Respect guys mapping the way.________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________ ________The station went from strength to strength over the years , and had legends starting their career on the station like MC Blakey s, MC Wizard, Hooligan,Dj’s like Concrete, Barrington, Ruffcut, KC ..
