let them eat cake

About Me

I am Corsetier & Dressmaker, I make stage, performance, circus, period & retro costume. I design, pattern cut and hand craft desirable little ensembles for burlesque beauties, glamorous ladies, carnival queens, circus and aerial performers. I work freelance as the occasional Wardrobe mistress, stage manager and performance helper/odd-bod. I'm so happy to be doing my dream job, that i love, and doing it my way.

Im a busy girl. However, i am easily distracted with words like: "cake," "kittens," "sewing," "shopping," "rollerskating," "field trip," "adventure," "dance" "pervy" & " party "
I ♥ Cornwall & miss it very much...
"...remember also that really well bred women will not thank you for making them conspicuous by over officiousness in their defense, unless, indeed, there be any serious or glaring violation of decorum. In small matters, ladies are both able and willing to take care of themselves, and would prefer being allowed to overwhelm the unlucky offender in their own way" Hints on Etiquette, 1836

My Interests

Fabric, Dressmaking & habadashery excite me tremendously.
As does dressing up, and dressing other people up, its my work and a big part of my life.
"You have a much better life if you wear impressive clothes" -Vivienne Westwood.
Doing the Lindy hop

Theatre, Corsets, vintage circus, tight lacing, good table manners, men in morning suits, killer heels, Victoriana, Other peoples postcards, Alexander Mc Queen, burning the candle at both ends with a blowtorch, eating ones own body weight in biscuits.
Tatoo & Body Mod

knitting jumpers for starving orphans from the boyfriends surplus body fur, knitting in general, crochet - i'm painfully slow right now. Tactile fabricy things, felting (NO, thats not like feltching) i can do some pretty nifty thing with fabric sculpture,
Felt Cake Making

I love Timorous Beasties fabric prints, Basso & Brooke, kinky couture, Latex, tailoring, Mexican wrestling with Mr Merrythought, Bill Hicks, Bambi, Baegels from brick lane, yoga, Leiderhosen, incandescence.co.uk, lanust. partying till i puke. last but not least, Nicely done & original or traditional Burlesque

I'd like to meet:

Networking is good, I generally really like people. Mostly i like people who like creative stuff, my stuff, vintagey stuff, seaside stuff, running away to join the circus stuff, corset stuff. Glamour, Glitz, Tits & Sleaze, with a dribble on top. However, There is only so much time in the day for internet socializing!!!
And whilst we're on the subject, I am a good, old fashioned girl, with no current words to explain how embarrassed and disappointed I am for how gross and misguided this world has become.
“Pleasure is the greatest incentive to evil.” Plato.
Original, open minded characters, harmless perverts, disco kids and eccentric misfits welcome...
