Welcome

I want to thank you for visiting MySpace. I read and appreciate all of your comments.

My new single, "UNSEEN" is a song that I fell in love with the first time I heard it. I was going to write all of the songs for my new album until I heard UNSEEN. I had to go to the studio immediately to record it. I hope you like it. Brian Nash, Whitney Duncan and Jennifer Schott did an awesome job writing it. I hope all of you will call your local stations and request the song.Make Me Believe is my big chick empowerment song I wrote with Ashlee Hewitt.

My first single, "17 In Abilene" was a "chick roadtrip" song I also wrote with Ashlee Hewitt. It went to 22 on Music Row.

Thanks for visiting my site and for your support.

Newcomer Katie Armiger’s powerful vocals and skillful songwriting are clearly showcased on her new music. At the ripe age of 17, Katie does not hold back and has an inspiring combination of determination and passion that shines through in her music.

Katie Armiger’s journey truly began two years ago when she entered “Houston’s Best Country Singer” contest sponsored by Radio 93Q Country. The contest, which was held over an eight week period, had over 150 boys and girls ages 9-17 in the Junior Division who were vying for the title. After several performances Katie rose to the top to grab the title of Houston’s Best Country Singer in her division with her rendition of Martina McBride’s “Whatever You Say.”

Several months later, Katie arrived in Nashville, where she began her work in the studio. Having completed some of the demo tracks that now appear on her debut album it was obvious to all those around Katie that the project was special and should become something more. Thus the juggling act began. At the same time Katie was going to high school and maintaining an A average, she was listening to, writing, and rehearsing music.

Rarely do you hear of a young artist whose vocal ability and talent is compared to the likes of seasoned country artists like Sara Evans and Martina McBride, but Katie Armiger, who burst onto the country music scene last year is just that. If her debut album showcased her undeniable abilities, her second album will make you Believe.

The album, Believe, title says it all. “I have learned so much over the last year and one of the most important things I’ve learned is that you just have to believe in yourself,” said Katie. “It’s been an unbelievable year filled with so many challenges and through those challenges I continue to learn more about myself, especially as an artist. This album speaks to those challenges in a way that I hope listeners can relate.”

The 11-track album, which features the previously released single, “Make Me Believe,” is a recording that truly captures Katie’s heart and soul. She has written a group of songs that convey messages of strength, hope and inspiration. Katie, even at the age of 17, is driven by her desire to have her music touch others and with this album it is clear that she has the ability to do just that.

For Believe, Katie was able to throw herself into the process of songwriting. “I would always have an idea of what I wanted a song to sound like, but never really had a way of showing someone the chords. So I began taking guitar lessons,” said Katie. “I still have a long way to go but it’s a great start to communicating better with my co-writers. It’s definitely made the process easier.”

Katie had a hand in writing 10 of the tracks on the album and had the privilege of working with a talented array of Nashville songwriters including her close friend Ashlee Hewitt, with whom she had written her last two singles. This time the result was two moving tracks “Movin’ On” and “Wash Away.” The former track an emotional look at breaking up with a loved one. But it’s the powerful “Wash Away” that shows how the combination is growing when the two delve into the use of hardship for inspiration.

Katie also teamed with Hunter Davis (who has penned songs for the likes of Willie Nelson, Reba McEntire and Clay Aiken) on the powerful track “Something Better,” which talks about empowerment and the will to do what your mind and heart desire. In addition, “Trail of Lies” was co-written by Katie, with Lisa McCollum and Quinn Loggins who were both new to the songwriting process yet flourished to write an up-tempo song about catching a lying, cheating guy in a web of lies when it comes to love.

But it wasn’t until Katie started working with the album’s producer Jonathan Lawson that the project started to really come together. Jonathan, a talented artist himself having released a solo album in 2005 entitled Firefly as well as being a part of the Nashville trio Tin Cup Gypsy, teamed up with Katie to write and share lead vocals for the two tracks “Road Is Calling” and “Jealousy.” Together their voices are remarkable and round out the album in such a way that listeners will not be disappointed. “Jonathan is an amazing producer, who brings talent and energy to the table,” said Katie. “I couldn’t help but get caught up in his creativity. He has such a great collaborative vibe about him. I learned so much.”

“Break Yours First” is a tongue-in-cheek upbeat song that Katie wrote with the talented Rebecca Lynn Howard, who has written songs for Trisha Yearwood and Patty Loveless. “No one likes to be the one dumped so Rebecca and I thought we would write a song about making sure you were the dumpee,” explained Katie. “It’s a really fun song and Rebecca was amazing to work with.”

Katie’s growth as a lyricist is evident on “Bleed” and “Gone,” both of which she wrote on her own. This was a first for Katie and a milestone that does not go unnoticed when you hear the honesty and sincerity in these ballads that every artist wishes to portray in their music. “Gone” was inspired by a crazy traffic experience. But it took a turn of its own, when the song morphed into the realization to live life to its fullest – very mature subject matter for one so young. While “Bleed” showcases poignant lyrics and a voice that is well beyond her years.

Katie Armiger has just scratched the surface of what she is capable of. She is a passionate and driven performer well beyond her years. From the moment you hear the first song on Believe it will come as no surprise that this Sugar Land, Texas native is poised to take her place in country music for years to come.
