About Me

Ms. Bugg is a graphic artist, cartoonist and illustrator whose love of hip-hop culture is reflected in both her personal and artistic style. Throughout the 1980s she hand-painted graffiti onto apparel and accessories. In the 1990s she worked as a graphic artist, developing her strong sense of layout and design. It is this combination of design experience and hip-hop style along with her interest in Japanese Anime that inspired the foundation of AfroAnime, LLC and the creation of her B-Buggz characters.
Established in the year 2000 with childhood friend Sean Johnson, AfroAnime offers fashion, accessory, entertainment and lifestyle products that capture the essence of hip-hop culture. Through it’s B-Buggz characters, AfroAnime strives to bring the fun and creativity back to hip-hop culture. By reviving a time when it was not considered cool to glamorizing negativity and self-destruction, AfroAnime hopes to help dispel the two-dimensional gansta-thug caricature that hip-hop has become synonymous with in recent years.
The B-Buggz characters and story line centers around B-Fly, a b-girl, graffiti writer and die-hard hip-hop fan from back in the day who is currently featured on much of AfroAnime’s apparel and accessory line. With her fondness for all things old-skool, B-Fly, and her b-girls B-Chill, B-Fresh, B-Love, B-Mellow, and B-Wild, make witty, satirical and often biting observations about such diverse topics as relationships, politics, the media, pop-culture and the current state of hip-hop.
To find out more about B-Fly, and her b-girls visit www.bbuggz.com and get to know the B-Buggz characters while you brush up on your hip-hop history. And don’t forget to stop by our shop for apparel, accessories and gifts featuring all your favorite B-Buggz characters.
