DJing, singing, music, geology, yoga, collecting anything Happy Bunny, Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack...I love HOCKEY. Best sport on earth--I love to go to the games! I've been a Coyote's fan since inaugural season--before that I followed Detroit and Jersey (I'm still a Devils fan)--I wish the Thrashers were better and I hate their team logo--SO unimaginative. I also like college football (UGA & ASU), major league baseball (Braves), golf (I lettered my freshman year of high school and promptly quit--I accomplished my goal) and soccer (because soccer is like hockey without ice and sticks)....and lots of other things...there should be some element of surprise, right? ;D
Due to popular demand (and because I never get around to replying to my mail) I'm giving out my Instant Messanger addresses....oooOOoooh. Brave soul am I!
Don't abuse it or I'll block your ass.

I'm on a bit of a hiatus right now due to the birth of my first child. I've been playing a few select local events and I've not been keeping up on promoting my booking dates, but watch out for bulletins occasionally from me and I will try to remember to post it in my blog.
I own a Pit Bull mix named Indigo who is the sweetest animal on the planet--some of you have met him and know that. If our politicians keep at it, Indigo, no matter how sweet and loving he is, might not have anywhere to call home someday. Don't believe me? Check PBRC by clicking on the image below and check the ordinances in YOUR area. Several states and municipalities already have laws in place. FIGHT B REED S PECIFIC L EGISLATION!
Anyone who is laid-back and cool. And ISN'T a stalker. Heh.
THE RULES:
#1. NO, I AM NOT LOOKING TO HOOK UP ON MYSPACE, GUYS (and some girls), and it says NOTHING about 'dating or serious relationships' under "Here for:", so please respect that and don't hound me about trying to get me to go out on a date. As I said earlier, I'm MARRIED. Respect that.
#2. For those of you who are interested in adding me to your friend's list... Yes, I have over 4000 "friends." I could easily have as many as Christine Dolce aka Forbidden as I've been on MySpace for nearly as long, but I don't add everyone like she does. I actually take the time to go through all add requests to see if you're real or not. If you don't have similar interests to me, or you're a douche-bag dude or stripper/pr0n star/model/talent scout just adding girls, chances are you won't be added. I'm not a baseball card; I'm not into 'collecting people' or being 'collected'. If your friend's list is nothing but a bunch of scantily clad females blowing you kisses, don't even bother. Or if for some reason you absolutely feel that I should add you, send me a message stating WHY I should add you--and no, 'because you're hot' or 'you have a nice ass' or 'common baby' does not constitute an answer.
#3. DO NOT SPAM MY INBOX OR COMMENTS. If you are a band, DJ, or entertainer of ANY sort, you need to restrict your promotion to my bulletins. If you spam my inbox or comments, I delete you. That simple. I will ONLY post LOCAL events in my comments and you must message me a personal request FIRST. Otherwise, I will just delete your spam-comment.
One other thing I should mention...the flash crap is getting old. Put the shit on your own page, not mine. My friends--my REAL friends--are complaining and don't want to check out my profile because it's irritating/loud/annoying/not-safe-for-work. I've been nice enough not to delete the current crap but from now on, if you put that shit on my comments, I will delete it.
I play/spin/DJ DRUM 'N BASS......or 'drums in the basement' as I like to call it...
I started playing in 1996 and discovered dnb in July 1997...by November I debuted at the Planet Rampant Tour here in Phx...by July 1998 I played my first out of state show...dropped out for a couple of years when I moved to ATL and was asked to play on WRAS to fill in for someone...next thing I knew, I'd gotten sucked back in...and here I am now. Looks like I'm staying put too. No moving back to ATL for me.
I also like UNDERGROUND Hip Hop; punk; rock; blues; blue-grass; big-band...pretty much anything BUT country. I may live in Arizona, but I'm NOT a bumpkin.
My top five all time favorite bands in no particular order: Police, Rolling Stones, Led Zepplin, Smashing Pumpkins, Fleetwood Mac. Honorable mentions: Queen, Beatles, Frampton, The Who, CSNY, Nirvana, Pixies, Portishead, Massive Attack.
That is not to say that all I listen to is hard and heavy modern music; my grandparents saw to my musical education and exposed me to a lot of big-band era music and as I got older, I also developed a love for the blues. I would have to say that Solitude sung by Billie Holliday probably stirs my soul deeper than any song ever written.
I also happen to LOVE the symphony and opera--I love to be surprised with tickets to such live performances; I never get bored with going. I also adore the theater--I live for plays and musicals.
So, yes, I'm all over the place musically, but what would you expect from a girl who dons headphones and steps up to the decks on a regular basis?
The Ring (thank you for the reminder Chi), Mystic River, Matrix, Indiana Jones 1 2 & 3, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Ice Age, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Sweet November, How to Marry a Millionaire, Meet the Parents, 7 Year Itch, The Sweetest Thing, Metropolis, Some Like it Hot, A Streetcar Named Desire, Chicago, Ocean's Eleven, Office Space, Serendipity, The Italian Job (mmmmm Mark Wahlberg mmmm), 10 Things I Hate About You--but only because I like to look at Heath Ledger... ;D
Well, I used to be able to say I didn't own one, but my husband changed all that. We have two. Big screens. But I really don't watch it. I have no idea about anything on TV these days and I really don't care to be regaled with tales of the tube.
Wow...I HAD a list of my favorites here.... Sheesh. Gotta love Myspace updates.
Well, since I obviously don't watch television, then hopefully you've come to the conclusion (if you're smart) that I read....A LOT. I'm notorious for taking books to clubs and gigs. I read everything except trashy romance novels and porn--I have standards.
Since there are far too many books that I love, I'll just list some of my favorite authors: Shel Silverstein, Ayn Rand, J.K. Rowling, Jane Austin, Beverly Cleary (when I was in 1st and 2nd grade--I read all of the Ramona books), John Grisham, Tom Clancy, Matthew Kelly, Nicholas Sparks, Charles Dickens, Edward Gorey, Anne Rice, John Saul, and I must give mention to Shirley Jackson's short piece, The Lottery, because it made such an impression on me that I still remember it 15 years later. I have a thing for the macabre, if you couldn't tell by the last 4 authors, and yet, I also love inspirational works ala Matthew Kelly. I attribute this contradiction in taste to the gemini in me.
"It has become more and more apparent to me what truly makes life worth living: LOVING the people we love. If ever the phrase, ‘tis better to give than to receive’ was of poignant meaning, it is with regard to love and kindness. The expense of thought is far less expensive than monetary generosity, yet it is more valuable than any gift money can buy and lasts longer than any tangible possession." --Me.
