Rumi: A Day in the Two Worlds
Album out soon!

About Me

Rumi was a Sufi poet/mystic in mediaeval Afghanistan. Coleman Barks has brought his works to the contemporary audience in modern English, and he has also kindly allowed me to set them to music. The album is out soon- watch this space!

My Interests

Music:

Band Members:Rumi wrote the lyrics, but he wasn't physically present in the studio while the recording was being done. So, it's just me, my guitars Blondie, Redhead, Amber, my bass Watson, my vintage Pearl snare from someone's hard rubbish collection, Apple Logic, and a bunch of virtual instruments.
Influences: Rumi, Yes, The Waterboys/Mike Scott (my hero!), Kate Bush, Yasmin Levy, Peter Gabriel, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Deerhoof, The Small Faces, Scary Tiger, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Melanie Safka, David Bowie, Brian Eno, U2, Khalil Gudaz, Dya Singh, Safa Rachman, Donna De Lory, C.S. Lewis, Hosein Valamanesh, Coleman Barks, Jon Keats and others....
Sounds Like:

Rumi, World music, Poetry, Peter Gabriel, 60s psychedelic rock, 70s progressive rock, with some electronic ambient instrumentals thrown in...

Record Label: unsigned
Type of Label: None
